To The 5 Boroughs (Released on June 15th, 2004)
"We got caught in this kind of middle ground of this is a 'serious' song and this is a 'funny' one. The serious ones feel a little forced, and the funny ones are a little flat. I'm not trying to shit on this record though. There are some really funny moments on To The 5 Boroughs. And I'm proud that in a serious time, we got serious." (AH)
PSA about Beastie Boys Collection
FYI, the guy who runs Beastie Boys Collection has a history of racist, sexist behaviour and was charged for voter fraud earlier this year.
Here is just some of the public info out there, you can easily google his name to find out more:
There are plenty more gross social media posts like this one below on the website www.fredgattuso.com
I would normally not call someone out like this but as a Beastie Boys fan I am horrified and disgusted that a person like this is repping BB. Fred has been running these pages while abusing and manipulating fans behind the scenes in messages, and then silencing them. Enough is enough.
Beastie Boys performing at a benefit concert organised by Rage Against The Machine for Leonard Peltier. 29th April, 1994 at California State University.
Unsure of photographer as these were posted uncredited on an archived version of the bb gallery site. If anyone knows who took them please let me know!

A little more screencapping from videos on Michael Engert's YT page.

Low res but a little screencap thing I threw together
(From videos on YouTube channel of Michael Engert, thanks for the heads up on the channel @rhyme-the-rhyme-well, for others who haven't been on it yet, has some good rare BB footage)
Beastie Boys in Chicago, 1987. Photos by Gene Ambo. Details are confusing across the pics but I'm pretty sure this show was at The Aragon Ballroom.

This must be part of same shoot?
(Also by Lynn Goldsmith)
This video is such a goldmine

Interview with Beastie Boys for Machina magazine, 07/1998
By: RafaÅ Bryndal
Translation: Anna Bak ( @styleiswild )
Ā āāāā-
Introduction: The party called Beastie Boys in Lisbon went on for two days. On the first day we (the journalists) were invited to a magical āKremlinā club to listen to the new album [Hello Nasty]. I donāt think I have to explain how I felt knowing that I was possibly one of the first Polish people to listen to that phenomenal record. On the second day each of us got to meet the band in Hotel Ritz during the so-called āround-table.ā Itās like a private conversation with the artists. It looks a bit like a coffee party at your auntās. (ā¦) The whole meeting was just as absurd, in a positive way. The answers they gave us were often ironic, as one could expect.
R.B.: Donāt you think that being Beastie Boys is way cooler than being any other band in the world?
MCA: Unfortunately, we havenāt tried being a different band yet. So I canāt really answer your question.
Mike D: To be honest, thereās something to it. Maybe because we have so much fun working together. Itās not always fun, of course. We do work from time to time, but only sometimes.
R.B.: It seems like you work on your albums for fun and pleasure exclusively?
Mike D: I think itās because we donāt release them that often.
more sketchbook adventures! i use the beastie boys all the time to practice gesture and hands n stuff, so thatās why i included no. 3, itās so fun to just sit and draw from whatever photos or videos are right there!
