XD that's a very in-depth take, so let me respond with the same:

yeah i hold no delusions that an avengers era where their team includes Wanda, VIsion, Black Panther, and all of the other later additions would lose to the Academy---especially considering the Academy's lack of coherence and teamwork in comparison to the later movies Avengers.

The first thing you have to consider is that they're not necessarily any different in overall power levels, the two teams. the big difference is the GENRE. the worlds in which their story takes place and the allowances given to each. The closest thing the avengers have, in later times, to Allison's powers is Wanda---and she's not included. So Allison alone is a powerhouse aginst the opposing team. She is given more leeway and loopholes in the rules of her abilities than any Marvel character. And yes, while shutting her up is a definite possibility that the Aveners would immediately attempt, I think the Academy would know to keep their best player in play---and, for the record, Wanda took out the whole Avengers team (sans Hawkeye because he's awesome) in less than a few minutes using their lack of knowledge of her powers. They didn't know to expect mind control and mental manipulation, so they fell prey to it easily. I think it would be the same with Allison.

I really only said that Diego would take out Steve because I felt Steve would be tired after fighting Luther, but yeah. i can see what you're saying with that. It would certainly be hard---but then again, consider: could Diego manipulate the shield? I don't believe that Diego could manipulate Mjolnir (he would have to be worthy) but the shield is used as a weapon as well, and I think there's a decent chance he could use that to his advantage.

Okay, yes, we Five stans DEFINITELY make him out to be more powerful than he canonically is. I freely admit that lol. But I also don't think we're ENTIRELY wrong. While his powers aren't the best, his mind makes up for it, and without him coordinating I think the Academy's attacks would fall apart. Additionally, just look at how the Avengers fell easily to Quicksilver the first time they met him in AoU. I feel like Five's part in the battle would be a lot like that, what with his teleportation's similarities to superspeed.

Diego's powers would render Hawkeye's bow useless, and while Clint certainly has other strengths, I feel that he would eventually be taken out (though not without taking out an Umbrella. Perhaps Five or Viktor).

Another thing to consider is that the Avengers would be hesitant to fight Five. While I think they would quickly get over that hesitance, I think that in the beginning, the only one willing to fight him despite his appearance is Natasha.

Honestly, I feel like Diego would be one of the most useful in this fight. Steve's shield. Tony's missiles. Clint's arrows. Natasha's bullets. All are pretty much rendered useless. (Hell, what about Tony's suit? Idk.)

Big point off the bat: I think it's important to point out that, the Brellas at their season 3 state are not actually as powerful as the versions of them that we see in the "My Way" timeline. Allison might be the only one who ends up as strong/stronger that the My Way version later on in the season, but that's cause of the Marigold interferance that happens.

Again, yeah no Allison is definitly like, the one person who could do some serious damage to the Avengers out of the gate. Outside of Viktor "the Bomb" Hargreeves, she's probably the biggest threat. The problem with rumoring is the audio component (excluding the Marigold boost) which, if someone gets rumored and the Avengers can piece together that "oh theres an audio component to this" can be avoided by the long range based ones. The whole Allison thing is highly situational. She can sweep as easily as she could be taken out I do think (which i think is a good strong character, i love a glass canon)

The thing with Diego is that he does seem to struggle a little with objects he didn't throw. I do think if the shield was thrown at him, he could curve it just in time to not get hit or just scratched. Similarly with bullets and arrows (not sure about missiles or the suit, those seem much more complicated than diegos usual targets). After the end of s2, he could get them out of the way, just maybe not as stylishly as his "My Way" version.

A point on Luther actually, while Luther v Steve has a good thematic symmetry, it would actually make more sense for Hulk to go after him. Which, he could probably take for a bit but, the Hulk is the Hulk and maybe a little bit too much for Luther. That could be a point for Allison to rumor the Hulk though, depending on if she isn't distracted with something else or taken out of the fight at that point (For instance: some sort of shock arrow from Clint)

Speaking of shock arrows, could be another point of taking out Viktor actually. Outside of hammer to the head, of course. But a hammer to the head could honestly take out all of them (turning into most of them considering Klaus' resurective-immortality but thats just for pedantics.)

As someone who's favourite character of all time is Kurt "Nightcrawler" Wagner, I wont discount the amazing feats of teleportation, but again, Five can run out and it seems to be somewhat tied to his stamina. I wont go into the specifics of the differences between teleportation and super speed, since MCU Piet is. Strange. and this would turn into a "this is why I dont like the MCU's portrail of Quicksilver" rant. Five is definitly a good fighter, I wont deny that and we've seen him do some good damage on his own, but I will stick to the thought that, in general, fighting wise, alot of the Avengers would be used to or have fought similar styles to the basice Five applies (outside of the teleportation) Though yeah, his appearance would stump them at first, definitly. That can be taken advantage of. Though also gives the Avengers more reason to passively take him out of the battle in some way, which could lead to a whole nother approach to fighting him specifically.

I will also continue to stand with my cringe fail wife. His only part in this could be summoning ghosts which he does mostly by accident and when he does it on purpose he seems to have to really focus on keeping them physical like that. Ben could do some damage. Hammer to the head. Goodnight, Séance. If you were your comic self, this battle would be way different.

And then like. Outside of hammer to the head, Viktor could fuck them up. The third option should've really been "how quickly is viktor going in 'I will explode you' mode" because if Viktor went "explodes you" at the beginnings, the Brellas sweep.

Outside of that, yeah no I think the Avengers, due to being Professionals, have a more realistic chance.

XD so . . . i'm going to reveal something rn and YOU CAN'T JUDGE ME FOR IT but I have . . . absolutely no clue what that means because I have . . . not watched season four . . . uh . . . yeah . . . So I've just been going off of what I saw through the first three seasons.

I think that Diego, while he has trouble with things others have thrown rather than himself, he could curve Tony's missiles. It doesn't seem any different than when he went up against the bullets? And while I don't think it would be 100% accuracy, I do think he could certainly make it work enough to hold his own.

Yeah. I think that Luther would take on the Hulk, correctly assuming him to be the strongest opponent and therefore his responsibility, and then it would be quickly obvious that he was going to lose (because Hulk's strength just grows with each punch) so Allison would have to step in an Rumor Hulk instead.

Thor would be a definite problem with Mjolnir, you're right. I'm not entirely sure how the Academy would take him out, honestly.

Hahah okay I worded that statement about Five and Quicksilver wrong---I'm not saying that teleportation and superspeed* are the same. I'm saying that, given the Avengers' failure to correctly combat having an opponent who can quickly move through the battlefield (in AoU) I think they would, at least at first, fail to combat Five---which would lead to at least one of them falling before they could situate themselves.

in this whole thing, i think the four characters that I don't really have a pin on are Thor, Viktor, Klaus and Ben. Thor and Viktor mainly just because of how powerful they are, and Klaus and Ben because of their POTENTIAL to be powerful but my lack of certainty in their abilities haha

I mean, both teams are "professionals". the Academy just have more of a sibling dynamic as opposed to the "co-workers who kind of hate each other" thing the avengers have going on (you're a marvel fan, don't even deny it ahahahha). I think that, under the right circumstances, EITHER team can either be coherent and formidable or an absolute train wreck more likely to fight each other than anyone else.

yeah, adding the comics in would be throwing a bomb in everything.if I allowed the Academy THEIR comic abilities, then it would feel rude to exluce the avengers' comic abilities, and then the win would DEFINITELY go to them, even in this era. but if we added ONLY the Academy comics, then yeah. Klaus, Ben and Viktor are taking everyone out in two seconds flat. Allison too, really, because fuck if her powers weren't ridiculously OP in the comics.

If we were talking about their season 4 selves, they'd probably get folded much quicker lol. And I totally get not watching s4, it feels incredibly undercooked, as if it was the first draft of a story turned into a 6 episode mess of missing plot points.

With the "professionals" thing, the reason why I specifically called the Avengers professionaly and seperated that from the Brellas is simply that 1. I wouldnt call child soldiers professionals 2. Most of them did not stay in the field of hero-ing or fighting like that into adulthood. Five is the one who I'd say is a professional. (the argument could be made for diego and luther but they have their own reasons for why I dont consider them professionals) None of the Brellas are at their peak at the beginning of s3 or at the end of it. (Which yeah you could argue the avengers aren't at theirs either during the first movie, but theyre more prepared for a big battle than the Brellas)

Viktor and Thor are obviously the big powerhouses that can turn the tides. In the end you could really just make this "which one of the floaty glowy guys could take this home.

And about Klaus' potential, you are right! The potential of what Klaus could do is a whole thing with his character. If Klaus was in control of his powers, he would be a formitable foe. Plus he does have combat training, though he seems to be less inclined to fight than his Siblings With his powers, even with Reggies end of season 3 training he is not at a point where he can properly use them comfortably and I wont get into it too much for 'this is my favourite character and I've been non-stop thinking about him for a whole year' reasons. One day I will write my Klaus analysis. One day I will write that thing about him being the heart of the team. One day (<- coping)

Also actually I personally think he should be effected by the sound of guns being shot, but canon seems to disagree with me on the idea that the sound of gunfire should trigger a war veterans PTSD so. Yknow. Just TUA handling PTSD things.

Ben is completely reliant on Klaus, which is the biggest issue. Klaus is canonically kinda easy to take out, as soon as he is not paying attention or is lulled into a false sense of security. Though he can touch things himself, seemingly without direct help from Klaus' powers. Though I haven't watched s3 in a minute. Also if we were to go off of the s3 selves, Ben would not be around. Sparrow Ben could be there, and with him I actually think they could have more of a chance, since he also fits the "professional" criteria of still actively Hero-ing, but I digress.

The Academy didn't get much action---aside from Diego and Five---later on in life, which I suppose would certainly dull their abilities in comparison to the Avengers, who really only got into it when they were older. Though I don't think it would affect the fight in question, considering that we're like . . . plucking them off the timeline from a time when, due to the multiple apocalypses, they'd gotten back into the groove of things? But you're right, it does make them less "professional" in comparison.

The levels of PREPAREDNESS against their respective battles (Chitauri and Sparrows) doesn't really change the end result of the battle, only how fast and coherently they can get their footing in the beginning.

XD if you ever write a Klaus analysis, send me a link because I love that sort of thing. And yeah, you're totally right in regards to his combat experience. I sometimes forget about the stint in the army (was that army? some other organization? i don't remember, it's been over a year since I read the comics) in the comics. That alone would make him a formidable enemy even without the inclusion of his powers.

When I reference Ben, what I'm really picturing is Ghost Ben, not Sparrow Ben. Though, in the grand scheme of things, the only true difference is their reliance upon Klaus and how their presence would affect his ability to fight.

Five had no breaks, first three seasons is like. A month for him. He's a loaded gun.
