2kg of rhubarb in the freezer, a crumble in the oven, kale top tart, too, and some minty new potatoes on top. I have already given rhubarb to the neighbours and I have another 5kg to do something with tomorrow. And probably 10kg left outside!

Blooming.
The glorious chaos of a day out
Free fleece, froggie, Fraserburgh, fish, rhubarb buns, kale, haggis pie and a pink house in Banff.
Walrus hunting, beautiful beans, plum blossom, a kitchen ceiling in progress, no dig veg beds, an asparagus harvest and Siberian miner’s lettuce.
This week I’ve been working on the front and back gardens, the Polytunnel, planting veg and sowing seeds, cooking with whatever is in the garden already - several beach walks - not much progress on the kitchen except a couple of ceiling panels. More progress this week!

Week 3 and more (pre decoration) kitchen has appeared. I made a pie, weeded out some ground elder, made soup, met up with friends in Lossiemouth, made my first seed snails. The plum tree is about to blossom.
The scullery is drying out - I’ve planned my root veg store. The kitchen ceiling is coming together. I found an oak beam to go over the Rayburn to create the effect of an Inglenook.
Another fortnight before the rest of the kitchen arrives, so I have time to paint what I have and swap the handles. I have a pretty copper extractor to go up above the electric hob. It’s coming together slowly.
The kitchen is taking weeks - I expect the bathroom will too but I think the other rooms will be quicker. Most of the new bathroom has arrived. Just waiting for the sink.
I’ve added temporary linen curtains under the worktops where there are no cabinets so it’s looking a bit Brambly Hedge/burrowcore here at the moment.
Week 2 is over at the new house! It has been all about the painting, the freezers, fitting half of a second hand kitchen (and painting some of it - the second half of it arrives in May), refurbishing the Rayburn and beach walks. Oh and planting a willow bed and loads of seeds. It has been mostly sunny, about 17 degrees. The odd wild storm, which is quite exciting.
I have an old school friend visiting tomorrow, with her family, so it’s The Big Cleanup today. Plus yet another trip to the tip. There will be a lot of baking - breads, cheesecakes, cakes, pies - and plenty of cooking - a curry, noodles, veggies - plus some assembly of decorations, a hot chocolate bar and some salads.
Stormy (hilarious) beach walks, wild garlic, trips to the recycling centre, arrival of solar panels, the first rhubarb, planting veg seeds, pizzas in the Rayburn, Cullen Skink, making butter, painting, putting the kitchen ceiling back together, rubbish from the old house owners removed, painting, the beginnings of a willow garden. A busy week! The car alarm that you can hear in the video was set off by the crazy hailstones.
It has been this kind of week. The kitchen ceiling is down. The dog hasn’t swallowed anything he shouldn’t have. Swallows arrived for the walls. I’m not obsessed with the word swallow, I promise. I was gifted freebie tea along with my Harris Tweed for the window seat cushions. There’s a Porsche in the garage. I ordered posh wallpaper. The rhubarb and gooseberries are springing into life. Life is good.
A quick walk round the other side of Emsworth before heading to the vet for a check up (he’s fine).
