It took me way, way too long and too far into adulthood to understand that there are people who actually want kids. Like want want them, actively yearn to have little ones that are their own. Not just reluctantly thinking they might be able and willing to endure having some and tolerate their presence. But actually honest to god being certain that they cannot be happy if they can't have kids. In a way I still really can't wrap my head around it. There being people who really do genuinely want kids and can't picture themselves having a truly happy and fulfilling life that doesn't include being a parent.
One time my older sister was like you really shouldn’t have kids unless you actually want them
She was trying to be ~edgy~ or whatever but I was like OH okay and now I don’t (and she does because she wanted one)
the second radish is 29 feet away
this is legitimately the funniest post on this site
This is the most powerful call to ratio I've ever seen. It's like she's performing an incantation.
“NO!….RATIO!!!”
Honestly obsessed with her
Absolutely based
always reblog bonnie
I'm not even sure if they do still make tumblr
My five year plan is to just see what happens

Thieves Guild
A tale as old as time
I actually do feel like the "unemployed friend on a Tuesday" meme actually helps de-stigmatize unemployment because it frequently affirms that when you don't have a job you're more likely to be getting up to some weird shit rather than just lazing around. But I also feel like the unemployed friend is frequently up to some random shit because there's a whole pile of miscellaneous life tasks that full-time employment keeps people from. The unemployed friend is helping their cousin move, or babysitting, or checking in with a neighbor with mobility issues. The unemployed friend is a walking thesis on the inflexibility of our current labor landscape and just how much work exists outside of work.
I personally am straight up a better friend without a full time job, and this seems to have helped my employed friends enormously because of all these but also I can hold their shit with them because I don’t have useless shit if my own
(and plus my partner works in information organization at Amazon and I like taking what stupid little advantage of bezos I can it’s not much but it’s honest work etc etc)
I sit in front of a fiscal conservative in choir and one night before rehearsal he was on a diatribe about how a single payer or more centralized healthcare system would be cheaper - both to run, but also because there’s less likelihood of someone avoiding treatment and then ending up with someone more severe, for example - for everyone
I def don’t agree with him on everything, but that rant was informative

More proof that capitalism was never "freedom" or "small government".
you don't "hate kids," you hate being forced into a caretaking role.
you don't "hate kids," you hate censorship passed off as family values.
you don't "hate kids," you hate the constrictiveness of the nuclear family.
you don't "hate kids," you're just not used to occupying fully age diverse spaces so you're not used to the noise or the many different kinds of needs.
you don't "hate kids," most public spaces just aren't built for kids, and so the few kids you see are always uncomfortable and distressed.
you don't "hate kids," you hate the intense social rules assigned to kids and anyone who interacts with kids.
You don't "hate kids," you hate how society reproduces its most restrictive elements and how kids are powerless to resist it.

I think about this post a lot
I still think about this a lot but have been a lot particularly as I find myself in a similar situation
The difficult thing is that getting out of my comfort zone is the act of allowing myself to be comfortable at all 🙃
