“Just because it seems like she might be here, doesn’t mean
she is.” Of course, Henry knew the truth, that Maleficent had come
here with the curse. He also knew that she’d been brought here in her
dragon form, and that his mom’s magic had kept her that way, under
the library. And that Emma had killed her to save him.
He just didn’t think Mal knew that yet.
“The book. It isn’t perfect.” It didn’t say who, or what, came or
where they might have ended up. David was right under Snow’s
nose the entire time, and she never suspected a thing. It was
the same for almost everyone. Everyone had been reunited in
the end, mostly. Mal was an exception. He just didn’t think she’d
want to be reunited with her mother, is all. “It isn’t infallible.”

Mal was terrified, truth be told. She was afraid of
what her mother could do. She wanted
Maleficent to stay as far away from her as
possible. Maleficent was evil, that much was true.
And Mal didn’t want her coming back to try and
turn her own daughter back into evil.
It was true, Mal knew nothing. She’d been with
her friends the entire time. And they’d
purposely been kept away from Maleficent, so
they wouldn’t have to deal with her.
