I've been procrastinating any kind of introduction because I couldn't commit to making it pretty but consider this a rough draft of an introduction that will be updated whenever I have spoons.

The Death Counter - plot bunny

Jojo finds herself in a new reality when she realizes she can not only see when the people around her are going to die--she can control it. A freak accident resulting in her best friend escaping death while a drunk driver finds theirs prematurely leads to Jojo meeting a mysterious woman who has no death counter. The immortal will be her only hope in learning why she has this gift and how she can get rid of it.

Elysia Everlasting - plotting

A woman is given infinite do-overs in her life, but one man recognizes her from old versions of her life. She'll either have to find a happy ever after or hit the reset button for eternity.

Reaper Academy - Plotting

A young reaper is struggling in her trade studies. Things look up for her when she gets an Appointment--only to find out the human is immortal. If she doesn't pass her final exams with some experience under her belt, she'll be reassigned. Life has some ideas for how to steal the reaper from Death.

Nursery for unattended Souls - plot bunny

A nursery worker who is usually very good at her afterlife job struggles to find family, ancestors, friends, or even an old pet for an unattended soul in her care. If souls are left unattended for too long, they are automatically reincarnated instead of getting to be placed in an afterlife.

Inspired by @dyrewrites as all good things are. The culmination of all the Afterlife stories. Life has gone too far and Everyone is doing something about it

Hey Winter!

My oldest/longest reigning baby is Alice from Rise of the Mantis. Originally, she was just a side character in Crystal's story. After struggling with all the hate mail I got for Death of a Monarch (long story. You can check my OG blog @aziz-writes or find a summary on my IG at tacobellkris) I shelved the whole series and came back to give poor baby Alice her own story. She became a real, concrete character with motivations and emotions she avoids like the plague and dagger skills on top if her brilliant, traumatized brain.

I am okay, but right now a lot of my friends are not due to the whole *gestures at the US in general* of things. These are friends that I love and respect and are typically at the forefront of protests and dissent but they're tired and scared and angry. And they get to be.

Your question is: How do scars impact your character? Is it just aesthetic? Do the scars pose mobility issues? How does your character feel about their scars? How does society at large?

Hey there!

The biggest scar I have (if you can call it a scar) is Lena's leg from The Bucket List. She lost it somewhere around prohibition fighting a mob boss and has since used her prosthetic as a weapon as well as a mobility aid. Over time, it gets kind of awkward going to a hospital looking like a twenty year old with an 80-year-old prosthesis, so she relies on strangers for most of her major upgrades.

One is a Japanese medical student who helps in exchange for using Lena as a case study for prosthesis design and advancement around the 1940/50s if I remember right, and another is a hippie who gives her a dead relative's hand-me-down leg. After that she just gets really good at repairing, fitting, and troubleshooting it on her own.

It's a day with the possibility of answering asks! If your character was to come into guardianship of a child by accidental or otherwise means, how would they deal with it?

Oooohhhhh man, who to do this for?

Alice would be protective of the kid but also wouldn't know what the heck to do with one. Like if we're at the point where the main three have to work together, Alice is teaching the kid self defense, Crystal is doing all of the play/secure attachment work, and Rebekah is handed the kid if they start crying (I say 'handed', but it's likely the kid has started crying around Alice and Alice is ten steps back looking scared that she Broke It and Rebekah or Crystal come in to save the day).

Let's be so real right now: Almost every character I write is a self-insert to some degree. Lena is me but immortal, Crystal is me but rich, Veronica is me but her classmate got ran over by a train and nobody knows she was there......
