And this tuan2 dan puan2 would be the last thing i would want to draw. It was fun i guess while it lasted.

I adore lukisan ni, i mean, this may sound stupid coming from me, but i do appreciate this form better. I mean, some go for arts yg perfectly imitates whatever the things they try to imitate, but i iri dgn sense of purity yg i see in this form. In fact i adore lukisan kanak2 better, sbb that's art without skill, they havent learn any shits yet, yet they produce. Thus this thing comes from the heart, purely desire to produce, to convey, not to impress anyone. But just to do art. That's why again, i tekankan di sini, i suka lukisan ni. Damn it brings memories, to those time when permandangan is simply 2 simplistic triangular mountains, with a perfectly spherical sun in between (no matter how hard we've tried to make it perfectly spherical). Those times where the ocean is basically a line separating 2 colours, one blue, the other being brown. No theory involved whatsoever, we just know that there's this paper, and we have some murah punya krayon and watercolour because our parents could not afford buncho or some italian sounding brands, but we still made some marks on the paper. Those time we were care less (not careless) about what people thing. It's art if i say it is. Those for me is the good times. Then we learn more and more, definitions, techniques, criticisms and the society. We change. Either the change is good or not, i couldnt say much, but here’s the thing, we definitely lose the ability to create “art” the way we used to, and like the death of language and culture i personally believe this is the thing to be mourned for. And that, tuan2 dan puan2, the evidence that i could merepek as much as i want too even on the simplest of stuff.

Again we have to make clear to ourselves that “every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion.” Doing so wont reveal much about the sitter then, it is rather the painter that reveals himself. And we should know well that by showing our works it is us that is exhibited, not the subject and obviously not the one that observe. And this might as well be applicable to any form of art that could exist and exhibited to the world.

Kaedah melukis buah-buahan yang dikenali ramai. The sixth one goes to durian. So called the king of fruits, reflects on how certain characteristics are associated more towards a certain gender and some other characteristics for the other gender, and thus shows how the concept of gender and differentiation of them exist among the malay community.
