I figured it was time to make a new pinned post, since my old one was from 4 1/2 years ago.
Anyway, the name's Moss (she/her). I write fanfiction on AO3 (click for link to my profile on there) and read it both there and here on Tumblr. My favorite fandoms are Harry Potter (screw JKR), Star Wars, and BBC Merlin. I mainly write Harry Potter and Star Wars fics, but I have dabbled in a couple other fandoms in the past.
Technically I have a Ko-fi that past me set up, so if for some reason you want to needlessly throw money at me, that is here. However, I'm in a much better place than I was 5 years ago and I'm no longer desperate for help. Yay for progress!

Yes it's been 5 years since I started posting it. I posted the first 11 chapters in 2021, then took a FOUR YEAR BREAK. and then started posting again in Jan 2026.
Sam Lupin-Black is the adopted child of Remus and Sirius. They are 11 years old and starting their first year at Hogwarts. They quickly make friends (and enemies), and experience difficulty trying to figure out where they fit in a very gender-oriented Hogwarts. However, they've got a good head on their shoulders and confidence to boot, so as they soldier through the struggles that come with being queer in a world that's not made for them, they make unlikely friends and change the world around them for good.
As usual with my fics, this is a "what-if" scenario where I tweak the world to my liking, then follow the canon plotline and see what happens because of my changes. The changes this time are: being queer is way more normal than it is in canon, Sirius had a fair trial because of Remus and they end up raising an orphaned kid together, and Harry has Sirius and Remus as "uncles" and Sam as his "cousin." I have genuinely loved writing this fic and exploring Hogwarts through Sam's eyes. I've explored much more of the interpersonal relationships between Harry and co., as well as some of the intricacies (and plot holes) of the original wizarding world.
As for the future of the fic, I'm going to make my way through all seven books (it's gonna be LOOOOOONG). Because of the length, here's what I'm going to do once I finish Philosopher's Stone: each book will be posted as it's own fic, but I will also be keeping a "master fic" of alllll the chapters of all the books, just so I can see the word count, chapter count, and exactly how many years it will take me to finish this thing. I know I personally like searching up complete works, so I want to give people the chance to find the completed books while I'm working on the remaining ones, instead of waiting who knows how many years to have the giant fic hit the "completed" tag.
I'll definitely be changing some more of the canon as I go, particularly to compensate for the more glaring plot holes of the original series. I'll make it clear in my author's notes when I do.

This is a second draft of my old fics "The Stowaway" and "The Clan." It focuses on Ris's slowburn romance between her and the Mandalorian (more spoilers below in the descriptions for "The Stowaway" and "The Clan").
As of Jan 2026, I've only posted one revised scene, and will continue to chip away at the original fic as I see fit.
I've wanted to rewrite "The Stowaway" for quite a while now, but could never quite wrap my head around the giant scale of Star Wars as a canon. So I've decided to just write whatever scenes I want for now and fit canon in later. It's Star Wars--canon is fluid at best anyway.

I wrote this in six months at the end of 2020/beginning of 2021. It was officially published on AO3 between Jan 11 and Mar 7, 2021. I've written a second person POV before or since, and I don't know what I was thinking, but here we are. Here's the summary I have for this fic on AO3:
A stowaway is hidden in the vents of Moff Gideon's Imperial cruiser, trying to get as many lightyears away from a mysterious past as possible. When a Mandalorian shows up and her plans are ruined, she boards his ship as a stowaway. She quickly realizes that he is not who she thinks he is, and as she slowly falls for him, her hidden secrets begin to unravel. A Y/N Mandalorian story set after the events of Episode 16 of The Mandalorian. This work is completed, and so is the next work in the series!
This is not a bad fic by any means, but it's certainly not good. It's a little rushed, and the "reader" character's personality is all over the place, but it's still a cute read, especially if you want to follow along with my posting of the second draft. This fic has a special place in my heart because it was the first one I ever posted on AO3 :)

This was from my very brief but very intense Supernatural phase right at the tail end of 2020. If you are a SPN fan, then you understand that then end of 2020 was a rough time to be a SPN fan.
This is a very short one-shot in which Dean writes a letter to Cas after the events of Season 15 Episode 18 (yeah, after the episode).
Also, side bar, I wrote this back before I even let my characters swear, since I didn't swear at all back then. Honestly, I try not to swear too much now, but if my character would, then they do. But I wrote this little one-shot from DEAN with only THREE little swears. Genuinely impressive because it still sounds in-character (as far as the show goes).
Also, secondary side bar, I've never drunk a drop of alcohol in my life so I was straight up guessing as to the effects when I writing lol. I don't think it was too off, but I genuinely have no idea haha.
I did, in fact, get so caught up in the rush of writing this that I LITERALLY learned Dean's handwriting and wrote the letter out the way he would have. That is linked here.
Anyway, this is my one and only SPN fic EVER. I hate SPN now, and I don't even remember most of the show. I have half a mind to delete the fic from off the face of the planet so I can distance myself as much as possible from the show and everything related to it. But I don't, because someone out there might like it and be upset if I did. So you're welcome.

This is the sequel to "The Stowaway" and is in second person as well. Again, I don't know why I did that, but it was fun to write. This is a direct continuation of "The Stowaway" and it follows the very domestic (but still action-packed) lives of Din Djarin (the Mandalorian) and the stowaway (the reader).
SPOILERS BELOW
Din and the reader adopt Grogu and Rey as their children and after a 15-year time jump in the middle of the fic, we speed-run the sequels, but better (literally all it takes is one side character having half a brain and a will to use it for the entire plot to stop making sense, so we run with that).
"The Clan" is definitely better-written than "The Stowaway" in my opinion (and since I wrote it, I think it's a relative opinion). The pacing is better and the "reader" character's personality is significantly more stable. But I do feel like the main relationship (DinxReader) is somewhat lacking in depth and true-to-character actions. Like I said before, I'm rewriting this whole thing and am posting little bits of it as I write them. Eventually, I'll post the whole second draft... but that day is not today.

This is a collection of scenes from my series called The Stowaway Series, which includes The Stowaway and The Clan. It was originally written with Y/N being the main character, but in these one shots, I gave her a name: Ris. These one shots are scenes that either didn't fit in the original story due to plot OR they are scenes from the story from Din or another character's point of view. Enjoy ;)

Our Flag Means Death fic, based loosely around the time of 1x09, in which Ed recites Shakespeare (badly), Izzy Hands is tricked because he's an idiot, and the crew plans to get Stede back before Ed goes off the deep end. Canon-typical shenanigans ensue.
Listen, if it was hard for me to write the SPN fic without swearing, this one was nearly impossible. They swear like every third word in OFMD, but past me somehow wrote it without swearing, the absolute madlad. (And it still sounds pretty canon to their personalities!)
I watched OFMD once and got INSANE brainrot for it (not helped by the rest of Tumblr ALSO getting obsessed with it) so I NEEDED to write us a happy ending after season one. I actually don't remember half the show but the writing of this fic ain't half bad. Maybe I should go watch the show again...

I miss 2012-Avengers-Tower-everyone-is-happy-and-nobody-dies fics and SO DO YOU. Everyone is alive and happy. The Avengers are a big family, not just co-workers. Thor loves poptarts. Clint hides in the vents. All is well. A daily blog run by Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, about the daily happenings of the Avengers compound. Occasional takeovers by Ned and MJ.
I loved writing this and it was my first foray back into fanfiction after not posting for a while. While I did write and publish this in 2022, it's set in 2024 (I think it's set right after Spiderman: Far From Home). Weird to look back and have the fic be in the past now when I wrote it two years into the future...
Anyway, I am thoroughly disenchanted with Marvel now and will likely never make another Marvel fic, but Spiderman is my boy and I love the 2012 fanon
