God sometimes I think about how rwby was written and created by an incredibly talented Asian man (which we can assume is yknow. The reason 75% of the characters seem to be Asian) and how since his untimely death it has been taken over and ruined by two mediocre men, one white and one half white, who very obviously dont regard Asian black or lgbt characters and subplots as important even though by all accounts that was basically monty’s entire vision for the show

I love it when they practically deify Monty’s writing, as if the first two seasons of RWBY weren’t full of stilted dialogue and bad pacing and everything that wasn’t a fight scene was sub par animation.

People do not like to admit that the writing picked up under Kerry’s direction. Kerry and Miles are just as much creators as Monty in the first place but once more creative control went to Kerry a lot of things improved.

Monty made a beautiful and intriguing world, it’s what has kept me with RWBY for so long really. But being honest, volume 3-5 writing is just so much better compared to 1-2
