*Owain frowns beneath his mask and tilts his head before approaching the stranger.*

"Uh- I got lost in the woods and kinda just ended up here. I wasn't sure if this was a functioning kingdom or not 'cause of the whole...run down look."

“Well. We’re basically in the middle of a war.” *Owain shrugs.* “The Red Kingdom definitely had it worse, though. I’m Owain, by the way. A loyal knight of the Blue Kingdom.”

"Oh, well that's...Interesting."

AHe simply stares a moment, debating on if he could trust Owain or not. He couldn't exactly see his face to read what body language he did understand. He bites at his lip, - a nervous habit - his teeth slightly too sharp for a normal person.

He blinks once or twice at the lack of care for him admitting to being a demon - he's never had that reaction before.

“Alright.” *Owain gestures to the kingdom.* “Welcome to the Blue Kingdom. I suppose a good place to start would be the gates…”

Avid looks at Owain a moment when he asks him, his brain still making small notes on everything he'd said - especially the names he'd given. The mages sounded nice - he'd always liked mages.

*Owain nods, and turns towards the path to the training grounds. When he gets there, he gestures towards the various buildings.*

Avid nods at each building explanation, simply taking in information. At the mention of Farkle he tilts his head to the side like a curious animal, his tail moving to rest in the vague shape of a question mark.

“Hm? Oh, Farkle is a dice game the other kingdom members use to gamble. Last I heard, 4C was well over a hundred gold in debt to wandering travelers because of it.”

Avid's head stays tilted a moment before he nods slightly in understanding. His tail takes a moment before it begins softly wagging again.

Avid does follow, he has no reason not to. The kingdom - for as broken and damaged as some parts were - seemed fairly nice, and the people seemed to be too. He looked up at the castle, the last place he lived didn't really have one so seeing one now was cool.

“Yes. Our Queen. She rules the kingdom and decides what must be done to improve it.”

Avid makes a small "Ohhh" face before smiling slightly. While the last place he lived (and truthfully it was the only place he'd lived before) had no castle per say it did have a "monarch." But he was only ever referred to as the king, nothing else. It was strange being in a new place, but it seemed much nicer here.

"what do you mean 'why do you look like that'? this what i normally wear!!" they gesture indignantly to their costume.

He puffs his cheeks slightly at the question, frustrated because he himself doesn't even know. He begins fidgeting with his tail.

shelby freezes for a heartbeat at his words. the irritation drains from her face so fast it’s almost startling.

He let's his cheeks slightly deflate as they assure him he's safe, and he believes her. Something about this Shelby feels different from his Shelby, yet it's still the same, familiar comforting feeling. He drops his tail and it falls into a very light wag.

“okay, good!! let’s go this way,” she points from the direction she had come from, giving him an uneasy smile. then they offer him a gloved hand.

"Okay..."

"hmm.. let's go this way.." they turn left, skidding around the outskirts of the red kingdom's walls.

He lightly nodded at most of what she said, he had no experience with this "red kingdom," but this path did seem very pretty. His eyes lingered on the roses, the red reminding him of Scott. At their question he moves his gaze on to her.

“oak.. hurst?” their eyebrows knit together in confusion. “i’m not… do you think you could point it out on a map..?”

"Yeah probably- You've never heard of it? The cursed town a tragedy befalls ever hundred years?"

shelby shakes her head lightly, their mouth pulling into a small frown. “not that i remember… maybe i’ve just never heard of it.”

"Yeah, I guess that's true..."

they nod lightly, concern still echoing on their face, "c'mon.. my tent is just up this way.."

Avid glances around, everything seemed like a if an object could scream. It was a lot, and normally it might be a little too much for him (he hadn't seen this much color since LONG before Oakhurst), he didn't mind too much. It seem very Shelby in a way, even if it wasn't the Shelby he knew best.

she smiles lightly before tapping a finger on their chin, "hmm... okay.. lets get you some food huh?" they walk over to another crate, that appears to have some sort of food.

He begins fidgeting with his tail, twisting it around his fingers so his hands don't feel empty. He keeps his eyes on them with a watchful gaze, like if he looks away he might be in another new place.

He smiles back slightly nervous.

"i... o–okay... if you say so.." she trails off, trying to mask the concern written over her face. it didn't stop her from fidgeting with the buttons on her sleeves.

Avid tilts his head to the side as he looks, observing every small doodle and word before looking at the actual land. Nothing looked quite right. Nothing looked dark and gloomy enough. He couldn't even see the capital! Maybe he was just blind, though.

"oh!! umm.. hmm.." they look at the map, eyebrows knitted together. there wasn't really a "capital" per say. there were major cities, but with the mix of kingdoms across the continent, no city was more important than the rest.

He seems slightly skeptical as he glances at the map again - might as well try, right? Maybe he was right about this place being another world, after all everything looked too happy to be Oakhurst. There were no spots on the map that quite showed any place as dark and scary as Oakhurst. But if he said anything would he be thought insane? He didn't want that to happen again.

Avid was a little scared to say the least, even if he were trying his best to hide it (and failing miserably at doing so.) He mindlessly pull his hood over his face more, a simple way to fidget that had become a habit. He sat down against a semi-intact building, pulling his knees against his chest. He glances at a flower next to him. He was tired but he refused to let himself sleep in such a new location, what if someone killed him for trespassing? It wouldn't be the most outlandish thing he'd heard of.

Avid jumps when he first hears a voice. He shrinks in on himself slightly, only for a moment, before glancing up to stare at the other person. He takes a moment to observe him before he even thinks about responding to his question. As beautiful as this man is, he tried not to think about it until he can ensure he's no threat.

He kept a distance at first, unsure of how safe the man was and wanting him to feel safe as well. He squinted, the two staring at each other for a long minute before Scott tentatively relaxed and stepped forward. Holding a hand out to him.

Avid seems wary still, he'd be tempted to back up had he not been against a wall. His gazes flicks between the other man's hand and face.
