Oh, my bad. I must have spaced. Didn’t mean to bother you, m’am.
That's fine, Mr. Russell. Is there a reason you're spacing out, or is it just one of those days?

"You should probably consider taking a seat at some point. You're making me nervous just standing there."
He smiled and his eyes trailed to the chair that was in front of her desk and he walked over to it and he pulled it out and sat down, pulling his tie straight when he saw his reflection in the window. "Well I’ll say even if you only get a few hours, you can still as fantastic as always." A sweet grin came over his lips and he nodded. “Yes, the office tends to get a little quiet when it seems like everyone is starting to eat healthier.”
The blonde sat forward, folding her arms over as she then offered him her complete undivided attention; a smile topping off her lipstick graced lips. Porter had always had a way of comforting even the worst of days with the mere aspect of his presence, and that had been one of the reasons why she cherished their bond. "Don't scold me, but I've been eating like a caveman lately. It's ridiculous." She chuckled a bit as her head shook faintly from side to side. "I should consider banning fast-food from my life."
Porter smiled at her, he didn’t mean to bother her. That’s if she was busy, she can simply say the word and he’d carry on with what he was doing. But he just took her warm smile as an invitation to step deeper into her office. "That’s always the problem with any given day, it has 24 hours. And sometimes we don’t even get to sleep most of that time."
"I'm lucky if I get a little over four hours of sleep," The blonde spoke through her smile as she watched him take a few steps further in, almost hesitant-like. "Take a seat if you'd like." She soon then offered with a gesture of her hand while she shifted her own petite frame onto her own. "So is there any particular reason why you're here, or was it so obvious that I needed a little friendly company?"

Porter walked down stairs, passing the office of the supervisor. He hasn’t spoken to the woman in a while and he would just about to check in on her. He was just in time to hear her sigh and he softly knocked on her door. "Long day?"
The voice had startled the blonde, and she turned as her brow raised, but quickly relaxed once she realized who it was. Despite her common demeanor, the woman held the fault of becoming easily frightened. This was something she could never confess openly. She offered him a warm smile and shrugged her thin shoulder. "You could say that. I'm not even halfway finished with it yet though."
"That should do it." The blonde mumbled to herself as she filled out the last of her employee evaluations, before setting it neatly to the stacked pile on her desk. She pushed her seat back and came to a stand as she then looked out the window, releasing a deep sigh as she began to feel the strain of a headache coming along.
The basement seemed to have consisted of only darkness, and upon occasion, light would have managed to seep in from past the stairs, or a functioning lightbulb, but even then. Not much could refrain shades of ebony from stretching past the walls, and at that moment, Avery had been staring down a peculiar creature she had never noticed before that embraced the dark. It watched her back like a lion to it's prey or vultures to carrion dawn, and despite the danger of even being in it's presence, the woman did not cower away. After some time, it began to crawl away on all fours, and she pursed her nude lips in slight disappointment before heading back up the stairs slowly. Almost hesitantly.
A curve flashed over the brunette’s lips once she continued speaking. “As tempting as a blank canvas sounds and usually is, I think telling you who I am would be much more simple. Besides, I don’t have anything to keep from you. Nothing matters as much as it used to when it comes to privacy." She mused with a slight shrug. Stephanie used to be nothing more than a shattered girl with only a sob story to tell. She kept to herself for the longest time, often staying in the dark just to keep from feeling vulnerable, but all that had changed when Tate came along. It took effort, and a lot of it, but things were easier for her now. She wasn’t afraid of her past.
She chuckled a bit at then indirect mention of the ghosts residing permanently in the house, and she tipped her head a bit; her chestnut brown locks sliding off her shoulder. “Stephanie. Stephanie Travis. Permanent resident of The Murder House, or as you wonderful folks call it, ‘L.A. Private Regional Hospital.’ You’re the supervisor, yeah? I have a lot of time for observations."
"I'm sure you have, Stephanie." The blonde pressed her hands over her thin hips, offering the ghost an apologetic smile, due to the obvious fact that she had seemingly been long deceased. Avery had been fascinated with the mere existence of these supernatural beings within the walls of the hospital, and now that she was face-to-face with one, she couldn't help but illuminate her interest. After a brief silence, she finely tuned her attention back to the brunette; a more serious demeanor making itself known. "Forgive me if I seem intruding, but I'm curious. How long have you been here?" She inquired quizzically.

Stephanie had always roamed the halls of the house at night, as stereotypical it was for a ghost to do. She found the silence that graced from the absence of common patients to be soothing, and in turn, made the hours after curfew her absolute favorite. She didn’t have to worry about her privacy being overwhelmed by those among the living, despite the fact that she could disappear if she wanted to. Truth was, the house was far from over crowded, and there wasn’t a thing she could do about it, regardless of her efforts.
The thin brunette found herself heading toward the staircase just before she heard the sigh of frustration sound from the front entrance of the house. She contemplated checking who it was, but Stephanie always did have a strong sense of curiosity. The rubber soles of her boots patted against the floor as she glanced around the corner, and raised a brow as this woman who she had seen before nearly jumped out of her own skin. She chuckled a bit and shrugged. “No. Not really. The blonde does you justice." She said bluntly.
Avery could have easily gone about her business and departed from this seemingly forward brunette. She was far from exhausted, and her bed was the only thing that sparked her interest at such a late hour of the day. However, there was a drastic alteration to the environment when she made her presence known; one that forced chills to flee up her slender back. Her eyes flickered as she surveyed the girl for a brief moment before offering the faintest of smiles.
"I suppose a 'thank you' is in order, but excuse my digressions." She replied in her usual satin-like voice. "Are you going to make me ask of your identity again, stranger? Or would you prefer a blank canvas for the remainder of our discussion?" Her full lips pursed as she gave her another once over before brow raised habitually. "You're not a patient, or worker. I know every face around here. Living, that is..." She suggested bluntly. She may not have openly regarded those of the dearly departed, but unlike a few others, Avery was indeed aware, hence the sudden hiring of mediums.
Avery had been avoiding the residents and workers of the house to the best of her potential ever since she encountered her peculiar 'gender swap.' Despite having reverted back to her former glory, she had been left with a curiosity as to why the happening ever occurred. The house was eerie, and she was entirely aware, yet, the idea of it obtaining a sort of majestic power? That held more insanity than any of the patients did. She had been just about ready to take her leave for the day, after staying hours after her shift had ended, and just as she reached to enter the security code to make her exit, she sighed.
The now-blonde had forgotten her employee reviews on her desk; they were quite the vituperative albatross that weighed down on her shoulders, and just as she turned on her heels, she elicited a gasp at the sudden presence of another being. "Can I help you?" She shot in fire from obvious displeasure of being frightened.
"I beg to differ, sweetheart." That Irish brogue was unmistakable even as a feminine lilt had found it’s way into the voice. Sebastian may have been plenty baffled himself in lieu of any sort of logical explanation for this fascinating and rather inconvenient phenomenon but he was a predator and predators always adapted. The curvaceous brunette sauntered into the room, coming up behind Avery as she placed her chin on his shoulder. Draping her arms around him from behind. “I think you look just as gorgeous as ever, baby." The tones this woman took and the accent could only mean one person, of course.
The frustration was enough to make Avery snap back, biting at any remark that was thrown his way, yet the familiar accent that was held by no other being in the hospital quickly caressed his nerves. A deepened breath left his lips while he gazed down with a brief motion. "It's strange. This is completely inexplicable, 'Bastian. Unreal even." Avery could have been submerged in the admiration of the gesture, but the feel of these new arms around him was foreign; something he hoped he wouldn't have to adjust to. "My hair isn't even red. I suppose that makes sense, I mean, I'm a natural blonde. Must've mixed..."
Despite her efforts, the 'once female' could not find it in herself to pull away from the mirror that reflected a man, rather than the image she had seen every single day of her life. She could not process why or even how all this happened, but it was nerve wrecking. She attempted to brew up every type of arbitrary idea that could help her understand but to no success, and that could have been enough to crush her with a mass of stress. "Christ, I look like my father." She grumbled, obviously dissatisfied.
"What? No no no, what's going on?! This is not happening."

I wonder what kind of day it will be
“Well, amuse me for a little and listen to what i have to say. Perspective will help you identify and label the situations but when something surprising happens will be surprising then your perspective, the way you look at things, will determined if it is good or not. I sound like i am going in circles so I am going to pretend i am a lawyer with my closing argument. Sure the way you look at things changes things but when things are they just are regardless of how we look at them, feeling may vary, but it does not take away from what it is”
“I will stop now before i bore you to death … and please, Zora is fine”
Avery chuckled a bit as her brows furrowed just briefly at the overwhelming bit of information she had given her. Giving a short nod, she let her gaze return to the nurse before her lipstick graced lips parted to speak. "No, no, it's fine. It's refreshing to have someone around who challenges simplistic concepts. I appreciate the morning 'brain blast,' Zora." she replied quite respectively.
