☆ COSMIC RELATIONS .

a self-titled debut album released march 23rd, 2012.

finally came out following 3 successful singles. met with warm reception and critical acclaim. the heart of Cosmic Relations’ meteoric rise to fame and quick gaining of their cult following.

the record combined unapologetically raw lyrics from lead singer and songwriter Aven Paige with bass-heavy rock and pop-punk production. a magnetic, intriguing sound with vocals that waste no time pulling you in to her ring of fire.

she sings about the troubles that often plague young adults— love and heartbreak, anger and disappointment, awkwardness and hope. as well as leaving many lines for a certain boy that’s recently caught her eye.

having been playing together for 5 years, they knew the sound they wanted going into the album making process. they drew inspiration from legends like Fleetwood Mac, Prince, and The Rolling Stones, but also took notes from more recent talents such as Fiona Apple, Arcade Fire, and Paramore.

. INHUMANS ☆

a sophomore album released april 11th, 2014.

with such as a successful debut, the pressure was on now, but Cosmic Relations was prepared to deliver. it became even more widely acclaimed than their first record, with remarks regarding a band honing their power and perfecting their art.

thinking more about what a song will be like in an arena during the writing process, they seeked a fuller sound, looking to experiment with a wider range of instruments and more layered, dreamy vocals. they looked to expand their horizons, and so took inspiration from artists like The Microphones, Imogen Heap, and The 1975.

whereas their debut album covered a range of topics, Inhumans follows the story of the lead singer’s troubled love affair. she sings about the ups and downs, the frustrations and late nights, and navigating it all with so many eyes on her. her mercurial feelings about the boy and the fame is the string that so beautifully weaves the record together.

ONE, TWO, THREE TIMES YOU’RE ON ME, AND SUDDENLY, READY, STEADY, GO !! — my formula 1 dr

ᯓ★ the championship lead switches hands again after the 6th race this F1 season! it was at the iconic Monaco street track, where Mercedes driver Djarin won the last 5 years, but his streak ended devastatingly with a DNF and his championship rival, Haas driver Lovelock, taking the win!

after qualifying in P2 with Djarin in P1, it seemed the winner on this tight track was already decided. but a stubborn woman and a cocky man changed that. a bump of tires as Lovelock overtakes sends Djarin into the barriers, leaving the rookie to cruise home in 1st. the reigning champion wasn’t happy, seen talking to his team about “reckless” behaviour. and all only 2 weeks after their heated post-race press conference in Spain!

Canada comes next! and Lovelock enters her home race leading the championship. it looked to be a memorable weekend for the rookie after qualifying in P1 on Saturday. however, Djarin still held a grudge from Monaco, believing her hitting him was intentional. so, he decides to return the favour. she takes Monaco from him, he’ll take Canada from her.

he pulls a similar move to hers in Monaco, bumping her at a corner as he goes to overtake. her first DNF this season, and at her home race no less! rightfully upset, Lovelock pushes for a harsh punishment, but without sufficient evidence that he did it on purpose, a 10 second time penalty is all he receives.

as Djarin takes the checkered flag to win his 3rd race this season, Lovelock is seen glaring on from the sidelines.
