Zuko prefers to sleep on his left side so his scar is against his pillow. Not because he’s ashamed of it, but because he can see better out of his right eye. And if the situation arose that someone was sneaking up on him while he was sleeping, he would have an easier time catching them with a fully operational eye with feigning sleep.

Okay so here’s the deal:

Money is tight. With my son being out of school, I have to pay for childcare for him, which basically saps my entire paycheck with him and his little brother going to daycare. And with my pay not being that high despite the amount of time I work, that leaves just my husband’s pay to cover us with all of our bills until August. That being said, I have decided to hop back into writing and get things rolling with commissions.

I can take up to 5 commissions at a time, and when I’m done with those I will reblog this post and take another 5. The cycle will keep on going until I reach my goal or until August 8th.

Below is a little chart I have created to give you guys an idea of what I charge for my commissions and the slots I have available. I need to raise at least $500 to help cover us for the next two months and any help is appreciated.

I will charge an extra $1.00 if you request any mature content alongside the flat rate listed above.

There are plenty of ways you can donate, volunteer, and otherwise provide relief to those in need. We’ve listed a bunch below, but you should feel free to reblog and add your own suggestions. We all need each other right now. 

Here’s a list of local food banks that could use your help.

The mayor of Houston has put together a Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund through the Greater Houston Community Foundation.

You can provide essential relief to the young, the elderly, and the disabled through donations to the Texas Diaper Bank.

SBP is “dedicated to shrinking the time between disaster and recovery.” Click through for some examples of what your donation can pay for. 

Don’t forget about the animals that have been displaced. The San Antonio Humane Society is here for them. 

Beyond donations, FEMA is actively seeking volunteers, stating that the scope of the disaster is greater than the government can handle. If you have space for refugees, you can offer that space for free through Airbnb. And if you have a boat, you can help the Houston Police in their water rescue efforts. Just call 713-881-3100.
