It was a perfect summer day—warm, gentle, and cooled by a soft breeze that rustled sleepily through the ancient oaks. Mr. Badger decided it was the ideal afternoon for a quiet picnic. He carefully packed his favorite old wicker basket, lining it with a freshly ironed, checkered cloth. Inside, he neatly tucked away plump, sun-ripened strawberries, buttery shortbread cookies that melted at the touch, mini Victoria sponge cakes dusted with sweet powdered sugar, crisp cucumber tea sandwiches, and a thermos full of his favorite fragrant herbal tea.
He walked with slow, deliberate steps until he found a beautiful, sun-drenched meadow hidden away from the rest of the world. The grass was alive with color, filled with nodding daisies, deep blue cornflowers, and patches of wild, honey-scented clover. Butterflies danced in pairs through the warm, golden air, and dragonflies darted like tiny, iridescent jewels just above the blades of grass. Far off, a bumblebee buzzed a lazy, comforting tune.
