Got some bad news today- going to have to have another surgery. Third one. For same issue. If I knew going into it that the issue would be fixed, I'd be less upset. But putting myself through all of that pain and healing time and the unavoidable flare of anxiety and mood issues that always follow, for something that may fail a third time? Upsetting. I got the news today, then threw myself into errands and chores, trying to avoid having to sit with the grief. I'll have to call the doctor back tomorrow and ask some very specific questions (although this practice has not been great about being empathetic about my anxiety levels [like, fucking sorry I don't like to be cut open??]...maybe I need to think about a second opinion).

The secretive King Rail is a bird I’ve rarely been able to photograph, let alone film. How cool that my first chance to catch one on video was such a gorgeous and relaxed bird.
