Artic Fox Jack x Red Deer Hiccup 🩵❤️

Imma go on a rant now about this au

Lore: After Jack saves his sister from the ice and falls into the water, the current takes him away and he drifts off to to a secluded island off of Berk. Luckily for him Hiccup was passing by while flying on toothless and found him. Due to hypothermia, when Jack woke up he didnt remember much of anything before waking up. Soon Jack and Hiccup become unlikely friends and also much more later on. A plot point would be Jack starts remembering he has a sister and tries to find her, but somehow gets into some trouble.

Jackson Overland: Artic fox. I was about to make him a Snowy Owl but I ended up not doing that since I think he fits a fox a lot better, to me at least. I also just wanted an excuse for him to change his hair color without him dying 😭🙏 Since he lives on Berk and its mostly snowing there, his hair is almost always white, but when it gets a bit warmer small stuffs of hair come out brown.

Hiccup tried to get Jack to wear boots when it snows but Jack hates it, he finds it useless to wear them since his fur is pretty warm, he does get a few cuts here and there for being reckless.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock lll: Red deer. A bit more thought went into this cause for a while I didnt know what animal to make Hiccup. Many people when they see Fawns they often see them as fragile and weak, which reminds me a lot of how so many people on Berk hated him cause of how weak he was in the first movie.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

1) Set off your smoke alarm or play the sound on your phone (if your home has no smoke alarms, pease get some!)

2) stand BY THE FRONT DOOR to hand out treats

Do this a couple times and then keep it up NO EXCEPTIONS. Accidentally set the alarm off cooking? Treats by the door. Smoke alarm sound on TV? Treats by the door. Changing your smoke alarm batteries twice a year like you’re supposed to? Give them a test run and your pets get treats by the door.

Most dogs and cats will clue in VERY quickly that hearing that specific sound means go to the front door and wait for treats.

If there’s an emergency and even if you leave by another way, you will still know the most likely place your pet(s) is and can direct first responders to help.

might be a little off topic, but i love the headcanon that echo and ripple would be like aggressively forgiving of connor (in a deviant playthrough where he spares them obvi)

but rocky and grace put the whole diplomacy thing in jeopardy by being too best buddy with it. like they're both really low level members of the mission. some engineer necessary for ship maintenance, and an obligatory molecular biologist they brought along in case they found more alien cells out in space. and these two guys like, somehow keep ending up hanging out essentially "at the back of the classroom." consistently left out of the actually important negotiations, and well, they're bored!

grace steals some laptops and starts jury-rigging his own personal translator for rocky, despite the fact that the official translation software is way quicker to learn and much more nuanced. rocky starts learning english, simplifies his eridian, and immediately starts mocking grace for needing the software. they start blabbing to each other about all the weird quirks of their respective cultures and advanced science their planets can do. the whole time they are ribbing each other about culture stuff. grace eats in front of rocky. rocky forces grace to sleep in a corridor somewhere so he can keep watch.

then stratt and the eridian leader find out and it's like

stratt: you. you've been meeting in private with a member of the eridian deligation?

grace: ... yyyes.

stratt: and you shared with them classified scientific documents?

grace: i... maybe gave him. a laptop. he's so smart! what was i supposed to do?

stratt: HIM? you've assigned male pronouns to a genderless species?

grace: he said he likes to match!

stratt: do you even know the name of this eridian?!

grace: i call him rocky :)

stratt: 😰

then on rocky's side of things it's like

eridian leader: sorry did you say you called the human after one of its digestive noises?

rocky: yeah :)

eridian leader: and. you've been telling it about how to make xenonite. one of our most vital trading resources.

rocky: yes yes, grace is very ignorant about basic chemistry 🙄

eridian leader: right. and you watch it sleep. despite the fact that all the human beings we have spoken to have described this as a cultural violation?

rocky: well he didn't like it at first but he came around!!

anyway both sides of the delegation are sweating profusely (metaphorically speaking) until they see rocky and grace in action and are like ohh! they're both freaks. we are not to blame for this. these two are just really bad at navigating cultural norms.
