i love spotting the differences between aziracrow's dynamic in the book vs the show because in the book they very much give "established queerplatonic couple in their late 30's/early 40's", meanwhile in the show they're in a disastrous 6000-year situationship and both act like teenage girls having their first wlw experience while looking like middle-aged men.
I like how, in the Good Omens book, Crowley gets this whole description of his physical appearance and Aziraphale just gets "i dunno...he just looks gay, man."

Argh, finally I get to share some pictures of my Ineffable Wives minifigures that I've been hinting about for ages. I totally blame the delay on them (more specifically Aziraphale, tbh). Seriously, when I had the crazy idea to create some LEGO 1960s Ineffable Wives I thought it would be a cute little quick project, but these ladies clearly had other ideas. Funnily it was Crowley who settled on some fashionable outfit and a perfectly 1960s hairdo quite quickly, but Aziraphale simply refused to make any decisions. We went through more hairpieces and fashion options than I care to remember. Turns out she's got standards! Obviously Crowley didn't want to be outdone by Aziraphale, so things started to spiral out of control just a bit! π
Anyway, at some point I simply gave up on finding their one true perfect outfit(s) and just rolled with whatever these two (again, mainly Aziraphale) wanted to try. Sp please enjoy all these ineffable Wives in their beautiful glory! π₯°
For more pictures and ramblings...
Here we go with my most fashionable interpretation of our beloved 1960s Ineffable Wives! Sadly we never got to see them on the show, but the mere idea of Aziraphale and Crowley in wonderful 1960s dresses has haunted my fantasies and dreams!
I'm so in love with both of these ladies! Just look at the colors and their gorgeous body shapes! It took me a while to figure out the perfect torso designs for each of them, but I needed Aziraphale to look all soft and curvy in contrast to Crowley's tall and slender built. Even the collar shapes reflect their personalities, too! π€
Also, I had a good laugh when I found the perfect 1x2 bricks for their skirts: a very old and rounded down yellow brick for Aziraphale, adding a soft touch, whereas Crowley got a brand new shiny sharp-edged black one to enhance her cutting-edge vibes!
Crowley insisted on getting some 1960s cat eye sunglasses as well to keep up with the times. These two ladies certainly do things in style!

As gorgeous as their elegant dresses are, both of my babies kept bugging me for some more casual and comfy outfits for their more private moments. Honestly, we had some epic debates about other potential 1960s outfits. No, Aziraphale, I'm so sorry, but we can't do an elaborate hippie set-up! My graphic design skills (and finances) are limited, you know, darling? π«£
However, we ultimately agreed on these custom printed tops, perfectly tailored to them! I know it's hard to see, but Aziraphale's paisley pattern here consists of teeny-tiny wings! Crowley's choice of pattern is quite self-explanatory, right? π
On a side note, these old Fabuland chairs are just perfect for some 1960s/1970s vibes! Bonus points for Crowley's longer (custom) legs fitting on the seats, too! However long(er) hairpieces don't fit at all, so we agreed on a short hair day!
So yeah, these two ladies enjoy some bickering and bantering while slowly getting drunk in private! Of course, Crowley doesn't need any sunglasses in this blissfully domestic setting. Cheers, my darlings! π·
Gosh, this one drove Crowley and me crazy (albeit for completely different reasons, lol). Aziraphale insisted on doing 'something Marilyn Monroe inspired'! Never mind that the famous scene in question is from the 1950s! Obviously being out of fashion for only a couple of years means nothing to Aziraphale.
However, I didn't have the heart to object anymore after Crowley caught a glimpse of Aziraphale in this very similar dress and promptly took a nosedive fell off the table, the little drama queen! Oops.
So yeah, please enjoy some very excited vaguely Marilyn Monroe inspired dressed-up angel and her totally smitten bodyguard demon in a sharp suit. Not to insinuate Crowley was jealous, but she got suspiciously irritated and glared glarefully whenever I needed to touch her wife!
Well, once Crowley got over her little bout of definitely absolutely not jealousy, she let me know that she'd like to impress Aziraphale have one of these really short flaring dresses with trumpet sleeves (in a cheerful black, of course) and a hairdo that would let her show off her beautiful long curls!
Since all parties involved enjoyed the space background from that last photo shoot, we agreed on doing a little stargazing together! Aziraphale, darling, wherever did you get this specific scroll? A souvenir, I guess? π€
Please excuse the overall darkness, but the theme just called for it, even if Crowley's dress blends in with the night a little bit too well. Whatever, just focus on the hair instead!
After all those 1960s shenanigans, please also enjoy some more Timeless Ineffable Wivesβ’οΈ (read: no specific time frame), brought to you by @ineffably-queer-book-lover being frustrated by constant downpours for days on end recently and making the best of being stuck inside by dressing up her babies for some nippy weather!
I just really wanted the wives to have an umbrella moment, even if I didn't get to create a tartan patterned one. Thank you very much, Aziraphale, for pointing out the lack of adequate props. Please take this lovely yellow one instead and stop complaining. You love yellow; it's pretty after all, remember? βοΈ
Well, one of the Ineffables is not a morning demon person! Don't try to interact before she had her (first) six shots of espresso. Unless your name is Aziraphale. In which case you might get away unscathed. Especially if you're wearing such an adorable tartan skirt! Yes dear, it's very stylish indeed!
My insincerest apologies, but once I got my hands on this awesome dark red snake-y hairpiece (snakepiece?), I just had to use it for this totally self-indulgent crack pic! You're welcome. π
Last but not least, enjoy some Present Day Ineffable Wives relaxing in their bookshop. π΅ππ·
Of course sometimes Fem Aziraphale is a bit set in her ways, too, so she enjoys the comfort of wearing her (slightly modified) infamous waistcoat. She does occasionally mix it up with a (tartan) skirt instead of her customary trousers, though. This waistcoat is not as threadbare well-worn yet, but give it a couple of centuries... π
Crowley on the other hand likes to mix and match constantly, depending on... I don't even know what, but I strongly suspect some correlation to the strength of Aziraphale's reactions, even if her Angel hasn't fallen off the table (yet), despite Crowley's best efforts with some impressive fashion choices. No, we're not sharing any bikini pictures, today.
Anyway, that's it for now. These pictures might not give away how much time and effort my babies and I have put into this project, but we hope you have just as much fun looking at these pictures as we had taking them! π
Please enjoy, reblog, like, comment,... but please don't reblog this post to any communities. Thank you!
Tagging the usual crowd with the customary addendum to please let me know if you want to be added to or removed from the list! π
