Rosetta Lucas Quisenberry, must tell this story because it is an evil that existed and dramatically shaped the lives of black people in America. Stereotyping a people has existed since biblical times and unfortunately is the most lasting impression that works insidiously, influencing our reactions to a diverse people or culture. Based on recent history, our country cannot afford to continue this conscious and/or unconscious attitude. She believe that the best way to overcome stereotyping is to expose it and allow the hurt it causes to be understood by all. Then the healing begins and we come together as better people.

Can our own racial psychological profile ever be made healthy again? How many animal names were we called, compared with or out- smarted by? Can this be undone? How many lower animals were we shown to have had sex with? This is better known as bestiality. Going through each of these five books thoroughly will reveal these answers.

This is information we must share with each other. Why? Because it’s a shared history and a shocking revelation of how badly our lives have been altered. In some ways, all of our lives has been touched and shaped by this history. Every succeeding generation must be told. So, all of us can understand our shared history and we can bond with it. This teaches us what past generations had to overcome and just what struggles, hurdles and hoops they had to jump through in order to survive. It is often quoted, “the more you know the further you will go.” Knowing that other previous generations planned for you to fail or be the laughing stock for society, then that should aspire you to want more, to aim higher, to have a greater ambition, to rise upward and soar.

Rosetta Quisenberry, born in Lexington, KY, was a school teacher for 14 years. She has collected over 1,000 postcards and other memorabilia with depictions of racist acts toward African Americans, many of which are featured in Quisenberry's 5-part series: A Saga of the Black Man, A Saga of the Black Woman, A Saga of the Black Child, A Saga of the Black Family and Things, People, and Places We Must Always Remember.

By taking a people already weakened and in a vulnerable state by being recently released from slavery, this shows us how easily our individual mindsets could be and were controlled. The whole thing is about control. For political, religious and financial gains, we were being destroyed emotionally. Coming from slavery and our self-esteem beginning to grow and blossom is when this racist attack occurs. Boy, oh boy, how we got screwed over! Both men and women were pictured with huge thick red lips, this has a diabolical hidden sexual agenda behind it. The black woman was always pictured with a head rag to show shame for her hair and for herself. This was done to lower the black woman’s self-image and self-esteem. My first book in this series titled “A Saga of the Black Man, Part 1” has been listed on the website Expanding Our Minds Through Knowledge, Enlightening Books. This was discovered by my niece Sherica Johnson and verified by a phone conversation with her mother Sallie Johnson. Personally, I felt as if I had won an Academy Award two times. First, because I believe in myself and self-published the book. Secondly, because I have been placed on a list with some of the most highly respected writers in our nation’s history.

Upon reaching my 50th birthday, I realized I had more time behind me than perhaps in front of me and it was time to bring this dream into reality. Also, I realized if I did not tell this story (Saga), then who would. The generations that follow me must come to know their true history and the experiences their parents, grandparents and forefathers have lived though and continue to endure.

A Saga of the Black Woman: Part 2 by Rosetta Lucas Quisenberry

A remarkable book that gives a museum-quality collection of postcards, photographs and memorabilia (circa 1880-1950) and their positive and negative portrayal of African-Americans.

We must grapple with these facts that are now coming to light. We acknowledge that some persons in our society were out to destroy our race psychologically my murdering our “spirit” while destroying our human essence (self-respect) and self-esteem (self-worth) through very hostile stereotypes. God’s blessing on us all. God forgive America. God Bless America.
