if you're ever in the market for furniture, especially office furniture, and you don't mind if it's a little old/vaguely reminiscent of a 6th grade classroom or a bureaucrat's office from the 80s, the state surplus store at the intersection of bolm and ed bluestein on the east side is a great place to pick up very affordable stuff. i've shopped there several times and picked up some great pieces like these huge 4'x5' cork boards for $5 apiece.

as with most of my coffee table art books, this gem of a publication was a find i picked up from the shelves of anthropologie’s sale section. normally $18 (and worth it), i got this slightly out of season issue of kinfolk magazine for $10. among its pages, i found the following inspiration:
