Thank you. Thank you for showing me how to love. Thank you for giving me love. Thank you for being my best friend. Thank you for all the laughs, memories, smiles.. All I see nowadays are people posting awful things about ex-boyfriends. Of course, there are those who deserve only awful things. But there are others who deserve nothing awful at all. I respect you and your decisions; I have no reason to hate you. Yes, you broke my heart, but it’s really much bigger than that. You taught me so much. I’m such a strong person because of you. I went through 2 months of you being in basic training, having no communication except through letters. I wrote you a letter every single day, being positive and telling you how proud I am of you. I went through the guilt of not being able to see you graduate from basic. I went through the happiness of you getting your phone back and being able to FaceTime and talk all the time again. I went through you breaking up with me, through text message, 3 days before our anniversary. I went through having to face the fact you don’t want me anymore; the fact that I not only lost my boyfriend, but also my best friend. But here I am. It’s been almost two months since then, and I’ve realized so much. Because of you, I’m a better person. And really, I have to thank you for that.
