Yes. I used to live in this small town that was famous for its empanada and raising one of Philippine's notorious dictators. My memories of my native town are actually rich considering I moved to the US when I was barely turning three and only had a brief vacation over there when I was seven. I didn't experience the "new girl in school phase," but my parents told me - this part is disturbing - that I would get nightmares every night and I would sleep walk to the door and start crying. My mom would fetch me and ask me what's wrong, and I'd tell her that I miss the Philippines and I want to go back. I had to go see a therapist after that.
Spirited Away: Do you ever forget names of people you know well?
Immediate family, no. Close friends, no. Friends that I haven't seen in months, sometimes yes.

When I flew to my native town after the end of the first grade, my Dad's backyard was a jungle mess. It's probably not as exaggerated as I picture it to be, but I remember exploring the area alone, and feeling courageous about it. I also had a cornfield and a rice field around the area. I'm not as brave now, like taking the metro home scares me.
Ponyo: Do you enjoy doing new or shocking things?
Yup. I want to go mountain bike riding and take fencing classes someday. And I want to take a comedy improv class. I feel like Bilbo Baggins because there's a part of me that's comfortable staying home, but there's a part of me that's craving for adventure.
