Q. Do you call your mother every day or only on occasions like her birthday, Motherâs Day, & Christmas?
âI try to call when I can. I do have a busy schedule, but that doesnât stop my mother from trying to call me everyday,â she stated. âI know she means well, but Iâm fine. I have been capable of taking care of myself for a long time,â her gaze shifted. She knows it has to do with what happened in the past two years. But dwelling on it wonât do anything, thatâs what she believes. âFor birthdays, Motherâs Day, & Christmas, I donât have to call if I am able to go to her house. Speaking in person is a better option.â
Q. What bad habit are you struggling to overcome?
âOrdering food,â she ran her fingers through her hair, âI need to learn how to cook. I canât just depend on ordering food all the time.â She is someone that can follow directions, so cooking should not be hard for her. But the idea of cooking? Not ideal. She comes home from a long day of work, sheâs not looking forward to cooking when she can order something and wait for it to come.
Q. What scent or song reminds you of your childhood? Why?
âThe smell of Acqua Di Parma Colonia,â she hummed, âThatâs what my fatherâs office smelt like. Even when he wasnât there. The smell wasnât as strong, but it lingered. I spent so much time in his office when he wasnât home,â there was a hint of sadness in her voice. âA lot of happy childhood memories involve my father being home.â
Q. What keeps you up at night?
âI donât see how thatâs any of your business,â she raised an eyebrow. It would be the patient she lost three years ago. She doesnât talk about it, but losing that patient hit differently for her. It wasnât the first time she lost a patient, and she understands that this is something that happens. She knew she did everything, but even that was not enough. And that led to her being sued a year later. Audrey never second guessed herself until now. The malpractice suit was dropped due to lack of evidence, but it was something she was never expected to happen.
Q. Have you ever climbed the water tower?
âI did once in high school,â she let out a nervous chuckle, âI let Ace talk me into climbing up the thing. I canât believe I did it. It was exciting, took me a while to get back down. It was fun, it took a lot of convincing though. I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack. However, it was the last fun night. I did get in a lot of trouble later on that night.
Q. Whatâs the weirdest thing youâve ever witnessed on Main Street?
âHave you seen my brother? I love Dakota but he needs to shave that beard of his and get a haircut. Invest in some hair product. Iâm constantly worried for him. Kiran and him had to go follow father and go into the military,â she shook her head. âI also saw a man walking with a chicken hidden in his armpit. And another man walking his goose. None of it makes sense. I question why I still live in this town.â
Q. Have you ever seen the Wharton Creek Witch?
âNo, of course not. The Wharton Creek Witch is just a myth that has been spread around by the people in town. Old folk tale to scare the kids into behaving. None of it is real. All the noises people think they hear, itâs just their paranoia causing them to be hypervigilant,â she shrugged her shoulders. âEverything a night is loud, ever lay in bed at night and just hear the noises the house makes? Itâs creepy, but thereâs nothing to it. I donât know why anyone would believe in such a foolish thing.â
