“I can’t tell you how much I love you. I mean, first you let me stay with you for the summer and now you’re letting my sister stay for the week. You’ll love her, she is so sweet.” She said She tilted her head, then nodded, “How long will you be gone?”

“Aww, it’s really no problem! I can’t tell you how much better it is having someone living here as well. It makes it less lonely. It used to only be me and Little Dog here, so it’s nice to have someone to talk to.” Audrie replied with a wide smile on her lips. “Just for a week, maybe even less if my dad is acting like a jerk.”

“Oh, look! Little black dresses galore. What do you think about this one?” She asked, as she looked into the closet and picked out one of the first dresses that she saw.

“Works for me.” Chance said with a grin. “My guest bedrooms are all set up.”

“Bedrooms? How many do you have?” She asked, as she continued to stumble around.

“Ouch, your name calling hurts. Besides, that joke was hilarious, thank you very much.”

“Good, I hope it hurt a lot.” She replied, trying to hold back her smile. “Eh...it wasn’t your best material, that’s for sure.--What jerk told you that joke, anyways?”

“My family was able to afford to come down New York next week. I’m so excited! But, I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, my little sister could stay here for the week.”

“Aww, that’s awesome! I’m excited for you! Of course, she can stay here for the week. The more, the merrier.--I also need to tell you something, in about two weeks I’m leaving off to France for a week or so. Obviously, you can stay here, but I won’t be around for awhile.”

“Yeah because I love food. It looks great Audrie. Every dress looks great on you. I’m not good at this.”

“Well thanks for at least trying to help out, because you are. I should have warn you about how serious I was about shopping, though.” She laughed. “We’ll get something after I go buy those shoes. I should probably put back this dress.--Wanna eat something at the mall or go somewhere else?”

“Yeah, I know I did, but now I highly regret it.” Greyson sighed as he leaned back in his seat, looking at the dress she was wearing. “Looks good. Sure, go for it.”

Audrie couldn’t help but laugh at his response. “That was such a guy answer. Short and simple.--Okay, okay. I’m going to purchase the clothes that I have sitting in the fitting room and then we can get something to eat. The food court has awesome Chinese food.”

scratching her head and letting out a small sigh, she looked at the dress she was wearing and shook her head. “i really liked the blue tight dress or the green one. those colors look good on you.”

Audrie tilted her head in contemplation, before nodding it in agreement. “You’re right. Those were good colors. Thank you. I’ll just buy those two dresses and then we can go out to eat. That’s enough dragging you around for today.” She replied with a smile. “What are you in the mood for?” As she asked the question, Audrie once again disappeared in the fitting room near them.

Absolutely! My closet is practically made for this type of night.

“Perfect! I want something that screams ‘please approach me’, but also ‘don’t expect to take me home’.” Audrie said, as she walked over to the closet.

“And that’s okay with me. Do you want to stay over at my place?”

“It’s probably for the best if I go back to your place, I don’t want to make Summer worry or wake her up.”

     “Holy shit, you actually came! Welcome to Casa Zelda Davis.” Zelda breathed out with a laugh, stumbling slightly as she reached out to brace herself on the person’s shoulder. Her head was swimming with alcohol and drugs, and she all but had to scream over the music coming from inside her apartment. Many people were packed inside dancing or doing whatever drunk people do, and many were outside shooting fireworks and milling around on the grass. “This is only the beginning!” Zelda reassured with another dizzy laugh. “The actual 4th will be crazier, but why not party earlier than that? C’mon, we’ll get you a beer–or drugs–whichever you prefer it’s all in the house. But don’t touch my bedroom, the last thing I need is this whole apartment building blowing up.”

“I would never miss a party. Never. Especially one with so many hot people...” Audrie’s voice trailed off, as her eyes started to wander for a moment at the people passing by. “I’d really like a beer, though. I’ve been craving one since my last one, which was like an hour ago.”
