Every time I watch Chuck 3x1 I am reminded that the whole damn point of this show is that they actually want the same damn things, just in a different order than the other person. Theyāre both willing to give up so much (and different things!) to create the life they want, and tHE BEAUTy of this show is that things finally click when they start living in a both-and place (ie: my favorite episode of all time Chuck vs the Honeymooners with the best fight ever) and aaall of season 3, is about them finding their way towards that. In their own circuitous routes ā lol yes Brandon Routh included. and they both make mistakes, and itās okay and beautiful and wonderful!! Because we as the watchers know that Chuck and Sarah are best when they are a) together and b) being spies.
S3 is all about them answering the following Qs:
1) What if we donāt have to give up being spies?
2) What if we donāt have to give up being together?
3) What if our superpower, the best thing about us, is that we are both in love and stellar spies? What if our bond and feelings make us stronger? What if there is no other work that we are better suited for? What if this is ā dare I sayā a calling ā a way for us to exist in an between place that no one else has before because we are making something new āØ
