On this day, 20 July 1925, Frantz Omar Fanon, psychiatrist, revolutionary and pioneering anti-colonialist theorist was born in the French colony of Martinique. Fanon served in the Free French Army during World War II in North Africa, and like many Black colonial troops, experienced racism. Living in Algeria he supported the independence movement until he was forced to leave the country, at which point he became an ambassador for the Algerian National Liberation Front. His seminal works include 'Black Skin, White Masks' 'The Wretched of the Earth', and focused not just on the politics and economics of colonialism but also its internal and psychological effects. 💔If this were your child... what would you do?
🥹How many times must my little girl be admitted to the intensive care unit before the world gives her a chance at life?
A 16-year-old girl has been admitted to the ICU twice due to kidney disease and needs €660 for urgent tests and treatment. What would your reaction be?
❤️ I would donate if I could.
🔁 I would share her story so it reaches someone who can help.
🙏 I would pray for her recovery
💔 I hope she finds someone to save her.
Sometimes, a life hinges on an amount that might seem small to some, but for our family, it represents the difference between continuing treatment and waiting for the condition to deteriorate
😭My daughter, Farah, has a severe renal tubular disorder that causes dangerously low potassium levels and blood acidity. The condition can lead to extreme weakness, muscle paralysis, cardiac complications, and is considered a form of chronic kidney failure. She has been admitted to the ICU twice after life-threatening cardiac episodes. Medical reports confirm that she urgently needs continuous treatment and close monitoring, but the medications and medical services she depends on are unavailable💔🥹
🆘Today, we urgently need €660 to cover:
🩺 Necessary medical tests and examinations.
📺 An imaging scan required to assess her condition.
💊 Healthcare services and necessary treatment.
Every day of delay increases the risk of her condition worsening, and we cannot bear these costs alone🥹💔
🙏 If you are able to donate, you are giving Farah a chance at treatment. If you cannot, sharing this appeal might reach someone who can help us. Thank you to everyone standing with us and praying for Farah’s recovery🌹
Note: if you would prefer to pay via paypal, you can do so here.

Some families measure time in days; we, however, have come to measure it by our ability to secure the next step of our daughter’s treatment. There is nothing harder for any parent than watching their child in pain🙏🏻

🚨👩🏻🦼Happy Disability Pride Month! 🤍✨As we celebrate this special month, I am reaching out to your kind hearts as a mother. My beautiful little girl is a child with special needs—she is my ultimate source of pride and joy, fighting her battles every day with the sweetest smile. To help her get the medical care, therapies, and support she needs to thrive, we are raising funds.🌹🇵🇸🤍👩🏻🦼
I reached out to Wesal today because I hadn't heard from her in a couple of days, which doesn't happen often, and she brought me this alarming news. Farah is back in the hospital:
"Farah had to undergo an urgent procedure and remains in the hospital. Her condition deteriorated—her potassium levels dropped to 2.2—forcing us to keep her in the hospital to receive intravenous potassium."
These are extremely low levels of potassium, putting Farah at risk of cardiac arrest. Intravenous supplementation of potassium must be done slowly - going too fast also endangers one's heart. This means Farah has to stay at the hospital, which, for a child like her, is very distressing. It is distressing for Wesal too.
"I feel like I am the one who will collapse to the ground, dead. I simply don't have the energy left; I am not a superhuman robot—I am a human being with limited stamina. The strain of standing, the constant vigilance and caution, and the need to monitor the IV drip—watching it fall drop by drop because the flow rate cannot be increased without risking adverse effects on the heart—have all taken their toll."
This is the second time that Farah has been admitted to hospital in a very short time. It is very costly, but there is no other option. The potassium supplements that Farah should be receiving have been unavailable for months now. We must keep Farah alive so she can be evacuated by the WHO when the opportunity arises.
Please donate if you are able, and share this post! Farah needs us!
"I'm afraid things will get to the point where I can't even buy a banana or a chicken breast for my daughter, mother, or father. I cry and say, "Oh God, please let the humanitarians continue to support us and donate. I won't even be able to afford filtered water without them.""
Wesal and I are both grateful for every single donation and every single reblog. ❤️
tagging for reach, I'm sorry to bother you once again, but please share and ask your friends to share as well, thank you <3 (let me know if you don't want me to tag you anymore, apologies for any multiple tags)

🩷There is a little girl waiting not for a gift... but for a chance at life. 💔From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who donated, shared, or prayed for my daughter. 🤍🫂🇵🇸
Every day, I watch my mother grow weaker, and it feels as though time is slowly taking her away while I stand here powerless. The doctors have told us that her treatment can no longer be delayed and that she needs it urgently.
I am begging you from the bottom of my heart—if there is compassion in your heart, please don't leave us to face this alone. Help us get my mother the treatment she desperately needs before it is too late.
Even the smallest donation can make a real difference, and even sharing this appeal could reach someone who is able to save my mother's life. Please, don't scroll past our plea in silence.

my message to white queers.
pupgender is just as much a serious gender as woman, mew/mews pronouns aren't less respectable than she/her or he/him, being stargender isn't any more "silly" or "frivolous" than being a man, being xenogender isn't the gender equivalent to playing with toys we ARE our genders no matter how playful with gender a xenogendered person is
also please stop assuming other people's gender is some kind of a fetish and claiming that it is sexual harassment to be asked to use the right pronouns
I was reading a book recently and came across an early 20th century Black American painter from South Carolina named Edwin Harleston and his work is lovely. At one point he wanted to paint landscapes in some gardens local to his area but Black people were only allowed in them if they were working the grounds so someone he knew got him in wearing a uniform and he took a bunch of pictures while there in the uniform and got to paint his landscapes. Evil that he had to go that far to paint his landscapes but legendary behavior.

The Edwin A. Harleston collection contains three original paintings by African American artist and community activist Edwin “Teddy” Harlesto
WE ALWAYS MANAGE TO MAKE A WAY!
"Images of African Americans who were lynched and dissected were treated alike in several telling ways. The dead bodies were often horribly mutilated: Body parts are excised and missing, and they are burned, castrated, or fresh wounds are visible.
The bodies were also posed and undignified attitudes that accentuated whites' dominance over them: the lynched were shown handcuffed, bound, hanging, gagged, and tied to stakes, and the dissected had been flayed, propped up, with playing cards and placed in their hands and cigarettes in their mouths, posed in chairs, or dressed in outlandish clothes or hats.
The dead bodies were often stripped nude or partially sold, while the revelers tended to be well, even festively, dressed. The white groups project an air of jubilant camaraderie and tend to look directly at the camera in an un-selfconscious, even proud manner.
Souvenir images of both types were often distributed in the forms of photographs or postcards of the anatomists or lynchers with the body. Actual body parts such as fingers, ears, patches of skin, and bones were seized, sold, and collected as souvenirs.
Lynched bodies and grisly human souvenirs served as warnings to Blacks that whites could torture them, murder them, and defile their bodies with impunity: any African american, literate or not, could read the same clear warnings and professional portraits of groups of jocular white physicians and physicians-to-be posing with flayed, dissected Black remains."

why does israel destroy the olive trees? (i hope i don't come off as offensive or antagonistic i'm just honestly curious) (i'm on anon because i'm nervous and anxious about asking questions not because i want to start an argument or something)
hi you’re okay anon i know you’re not being antagonistic it’s alright. israeli settlers and idf soldiers burn down and uproot olive trees both as literal violence and cultural violence. olive farming is a major industry of palestine and provides for tens of thousands of families. these trees are ancient, they are beloved by their communities and have been taken care of for generations. it takes at least 20 years for olive trees to bear fruit!!! although farmers plant new olive trees, this has been going on for over forty years and is systematic - the livelihood of these communities cannot be regrown overnight.
Another reason they destroy olive trees is purely for expansion and land grab reasons. Often, most Israeli settlements are built on village lands. If it’s not for settlement reasons, then it’s usually to expand the wall. You get the idea.
not only do they uproot and burn Olive trees, a native plant to the land, but they have planted thousands of Conifers, which are non native to the land and actually native to Europe.
Israel explains that conifers were planted because they are “fast growing plants” and therefore give “life” to an “empty” land. I have also heard that they were planted to make the settlers feel “at home”.
Israel’s way of making the dessert “bloom” is literally uprooting Indigenous life and replacing it. People and plants.
Conifers are catagorized as “invasive species”, their ability to spread fast damages native environments, as its the case with New Zealand, South Africa and Palestine.
the full circle of settler colonialism:
Israeli made conifer forest in Palestine.
