Despite Singapore emerging as one of the tops in the Asia-Pacific region and being ranked 10th out of 139 world economies for the competitiveness of the tourism sector, and having an enormous wealth present. Poverty is a pressing issue within the nation, due to the lack of jobs that have a minimum wage and also due to the high cost of living in Singapore. Some underprivileged people in Singapore do not get what they want or need.
As a citizen of Singapore, a lot has changed in the past ten years. Taxes are rising, Jobs are starting to pay lesser, and the number of companies reducing at an alarming rate. This is not only affecting the minority rather the whole country. How, you may ask ? I went out to ask working adults on how they felt about the current state of the country.
