Taking Commissions to Replace my Stolen Documents!
Hi, all! I am afraid life has thrown me a curve ball about the size of one of Jupiter’s moons, and I had my purse stolen a week ago with every single identifying document that my children and I have in it. Since we’re immigrants living in Europe, this is a slightly bigger issue than it would normally be, and since I was supposed to travel back to the US for the first time in three years in January, we are having to rush to replace everything, which is incurring even more fees on top of the fees just to fix it. So far, the damage is looking like it will work out to a minimum of $1,500 (and a not insignificant amount of self-flagellation).
Unfortunately, that is beyond my budget, so I’m currently taking art and writing commissions to cover these expenses. If you’ve ever considered commissioning a piece from me, now would be a great time!
In particular, I’m running a special on rush orders to be completed quickly – ideally the same day. Grab a holiday gift or treat yourself! This applies to anything I can finish in a single sitting.
As you can see, there’s a range of styles available – sketches, lines, full color, lineless, shaded. Almost anything that you have seen me do, I can do for a couple hours here, and if you haven’t seen me do it – ask! These only differ from my usual commissions in that there will be limitations on the amount of detail possible, as well as on the number of check-ins and revisions, to keep this in the spirit of a one-sitting rush order. This is an ideal choice in two opposite cases: if you have a more general prompt where you’re willing to let me take some artistic license on the details, OR if you have a very specific idea where you can give me all the details and references up front and we won’t need to go back and forth to make decisions.
For all other commissions, here’s my standard price sheet. Timelines will depend on the orders I receive, with rush orders taking priority.
Writing commissions
For writing commissions, my rates are 15 cents a word for nonfiction with attribution, up to 2,000 words; and 10 cents a word for fiction for noncommercial use with attribution, up to 5,000 words. For other projects, including longer pieces and fiction for commercial use, DM me to discuss details. You can find fiction writing samples on my AO3 (ATreeFullOfStars).
