she laughed as she turned towards her. “i was just trying something new, so far i think i’ll just stick to anything but horror movies. do you wanna watch halloween town with me? yep! those bags with a bunch of different chocolate, snickers, and reeces peanut butter cups, and kit kats.”
“i think sticking to anything but horror movies is a pretty good idea. or if you want to watch some horror movies, pick some of the less scary ones,” athena commented and leaned more into the couch. “when did you go get all this kiddo?”

vulcan had been deep into a fortnite game, and hadn’t heard the knock on the door. removing his headphones when his mother made her presence known, he smiled widely, “i’d never be too old to spend time with you, ma.” the male chuckled. “i’m also starving.” getting up from the chair he’d been sitting in to grab his jacket.
her smile grew once he looked up from his game. “really? well then some of these other moms around here must not be as good at me, ‘cause their kids complain about spending time with them.” she turned and began to walk downstairs. “i’m starving. where would you like to go?” she looked back to him as she grabbed her keys.

athena appeared in the doorway of her son’s room and smiled. she tapped against the door frame a couple times before speaking, “hey, kiddo.” she leaned against the edge of the frame and crossed her arms. “are you too old to be seen in public hanging out with your mom, or can we go get some lunch?”

“okay, i watched half of the movie from behind my hands, everyone was talking about how amazing this movie was and it was on.” she shrugged. “ i’d rather watch halloween town.. but at least i bought some Halloween candy and popcorn ”
“i think i’d probably do the same thing,” athena laughed. “well why don’t you just watch halloween town instead? i don’t see anyone here stopping you from doing that. halloween candy? what kind?”

“no that’s alright. she knew i’d be coming over here i’m sure she’ll be here soon.” athena smiled and took several steps further into the kitchen. “i’ve got plenty that’s worth seeing.” she walked completely into the kitchen and placed her back up on the counter. “i haven’t done anything like this recently but i promise i know what i’m doing.”

luca shook his head “no, i don’t. i would imagine she’s home by nine, seeing as that’s usually her bedtime.” he joked “i’m sure i can help you with whatever though, seeing as i am her business partner.” he smiled, leaning forward to reach her hand and shake it “luca, i do remember you. or at least i remember seeing your face around.”
“by nine? well i could come back later. on the phone she seemed to think she’d be back relatively soon. maybe she got stuck on her way here.” she paused for a moment. “i’ve just been doing some work for the press releases and other media.” athena shook his hand and returned it to her side. “i also live next door. it’s nice to re-meet you.”
