every part of them was still , stiff , even the rise & fall of their chest was shallow , practically static . their eyes locked on , never leaving , being the only sign that they were indeed not a statue ; darting to & fro , trying to find some sort of relief , wake up from this bad dream . & even though they stood a fair distance , had a nice , secure gap between the two of them , running didn’t seem like a good idea . * @asylumet. / ❤️
Certainty in her actions, heavy breath and shallow exhales ( In, out, in, out—it was so HARD to breathe, oh god! ), bonesaw with fingers tightly wrapped around the handle, pillow clad eyes seeking, searching ( FINDING ) for the loud noises mere moments ago. Those had grown quiet and she could barely even track them anymore. And yet, she knew, that she would have more ease at finding the small MOUSE than any of the others.
“ Come out, small mouse, I can– ” and she wheezed, cutting her own sentence short, coughing upon silken linen and, beneath the cover, her face made a GRIMACE to show her discomfort upon the very fabric covering her face turning moist from her own incompetence, “ ... Hear you. ” With a shriek she blinked forwards, hoping the heartbeat the deity had graced her kin with would be enough to SCARE the small human out of hiding. The Nurse found that, at times, that tactic worked if she blinked in the right direction.
