you know what. even if they're quick photos for reference when i clean the display, i don't think i showed my now around 10 years old mineral collection. so here

#placement is directly behind my desk and pc. it's not optimal but it will do for now #can't put these anywhere else in the house as of now #with years and experience. i realized some are artificially treated (like the 'citrine' quartzes)#but i like to keep them there. because they tell my story as a collectionist. we all grow experience as we proceed #so there. i'm happy i got rid of dust. now the glass reflects their light very neatly #i should also move some specimens around so they make more classification/groups sense #but i decided to leave it for another time today #and just focus on cleaning

truly feels like a crying type of evening and yet being so tired and done with everything that nothing comes out! lmao

#so many things at once. i admit i hated it last few months but that one time of therapy a month helped me voice things #that i wouldn't voice otherwise. because my therapist was completely external to everything about my life #now that i haven't had that in 3 months it's. starting to take its toll because of course i don't talk or voice things nowadays #so it's all constantly inside and not able to come out in any form #drawing is not going well. writing isn't going great either. can't focus on anything for myself properly or happily #but i at least cleaned my mineral display today. that made me feel good. so there's that #but man. week was insane and weekend i spent arguing for the most part #feels like shit. honest #but what can you do. anyways. grabs varthar and copes as usual #tbd

crossing my fingers for today

#when i'm home i'll dedicate myself to varthar. been meaning to try and write #and who knows. if it goes anywhere i might post #i'll also see to change my discord icon too. my friend's drawing will become his playlist's icon #so i get to see it again over there too (where there's another drawing of his from her)#i feel so blessed to have a long time friend who takes time out of their busy days to draw something for me #so i plan to keep looking at these drawings. as much as i can before the changing icon worm strikes me once more #anyways. planting shit to look forward to in my day so i pull through #no pressure. one shot delicate experiment i never did before that will be useful for publication one day #oh well! oh well. i'm lucky a labmate will supervise me #so there's that. here goes. fingers crossed for this fucking friday

nothing like steamrolling through an 8 am to 5 pm streak of work and running back and forth between buildings with samples with only maybe 10 thin minutes of lunch break before going back to it, realizing i made a potentially biohazardous mistake that i thankfully evaluated as not as bad as i feared, because i am, tired and alone, and i made a mistake that was almost caught by the toxic post doc who did nothing but make me feel miserable for an entire year and was ready to lynch me for it

and coming back home to my most beloved cat who vomited on my newly changed bedsheets and took a dump right after, then jumped on top of the new sheets i was laying down with a dirty ass

#i tackled her before she sat her butt down and placed her in the tub. gently damped her butt and washed her from excess poop #and let her go with a snack for thanks. she had a high tail and all too so she doesn't hate me thankfully #but also holy shit melissa lmfao #it's like being sort of a parent with pets at home. you come home tired but it's not in their power or will to care that you are #and they have needs and accidents that happen and you have to fix them #i'm in my work clothes still cause i'm too tired to change. grilling a hamburger outside my balcony #what a day. what a day #and also i know what mistake i made. and it's not a danger because my workflow prevents danger from occurring #i only did a misstep in the final discard step. basically threw the plates in the wrong container but they were long past being contaminate #by actively dangerous chemicals. i did several washes under a flow hood before that #so we're safe everyone's safe but post doc just HAD to look inside the fucking container and come at me for it #and i said no i didn't do that. BELIEVING that i DID throw the dishes in the right container but realized later that no. i did not #because i was tired and i was rushing. and that's excuses but holy fuck man #i'm the only one who rushes with protocols because one part is at one building and the other part is in my lab. WHO works like this. NOBODY #i'm doing the best here and i'm running on shti sleep and stress. i am bound to make mistakes #i just care nobody's in danger because of them #but god fucking dammit i'm so disappointed in myself #and i'm here. grilling a hamburger praying that the guy doesn't rummage through chemical waste to prove me wrong #he's insane enough to do that. what the fuck ever #i just care nobody got hurt or is in danger because of me. i trust my process and the chemistry. the rest is people bitching #they all smoke multiple cigarettes a fucking day they already welcome cancer in their system #what's inactive FA washed several times with PBS gonna do to them. fuck nothing
