[I was going to add a background all pretty-like, but the upcoming holiday happened. A new art for my blog!]
"Your Majesty," Sheik began, dropping to one knee with his fist clenched over his heart in a sign of respect. "I have been sent by the Hyrulean Royal Family to attempt negotiating an alliance."
Sheik peered at Midna through his bangs, red eyes sparkling in the ambient teal light, standing up from his bow. Her reaction now could pave hundreds of possible futures, each possibility whirling around his head while he waited.
Midna drew her head back. "Well, now." She kept her voice level, but really, if the Hylians found their way back into the Twilight realm--and safely, no less--she could one day return to the Light World and to those she left behind. And the potential made it difficult to reign in her composure. This was still a stranger.
"Possible? Do you know nothing? I was under the impression we already had a relationship," she said. She crossed her legs and pressed her fingertips together. "There are formalities left, I take it?"
3 people started following you.
Midna sat up straighter in her throne. She leaned forward and rested her hands on each chair arm.
"When the guards announced an ambassador, I can't say I expected you."
Her words rang out in the vacant cube of a throne room. The iridescent teal lights only climbed so high before they fell prey to the cloying shadows of the ceiling.
"Why are you here?"

[Guess who's back-back-back
Back again-gain-agin.
Under construction.]
Ghost Town
"In a manner of speaking," she shrugged. "I was home, minding my own business, when a large gate and portal appeared. I would have left it alone, were it not for myâŚhistory with portals.
"And I arrived there," she went on, nodding past him toward the plaza. "I havenât been here long."
"Question is," she asked, standing tall as she could, "what you were doing away from home in the first place?"
Having a âhistoryâ with portals did not bode well. He couldnât imagine what kind of life one had to lead before one became so blasĂŠ about gateways that violated every ounce of common sense. He⌠almost envied her? She must have had an exciting life thus far. But what constituted âexcitingâ for a demon he didnât want to find out.Â
He shrank back a little as she seemed to become even taller. âI only went for curiosityâs sake. Lots of other t-townsfolk had already been down, you see⌠And theyâd all said how strange and beautiful the Surface was, soâŚâ His voice, already growing quieter under her scrutiny, trailed off entirely, and he stared at the ground before his feet once more.  Â
She paused at that. She knew the feeling.
Standing back on her heels, she smiled pityingly and asked, "Don't you know what comes of chasing beautiful things?"
Turning half from him for the first time, she muttered in answer, "Well. You do now, anyway.
"And where do you think the others went?" she asked. He didn't sound like he knew. He sounded shocked.
Oh, right.
"I mean," she added quickly, "if you have any idea. I don't. Nor does anyone else. You're the first resident I met."
Open Sky | Midna, Haeyin, ???
Upon giving her answer to his first question - he supposed the rather dry comment would have to suffice - Haeyin crossed over the stepping stones and approached carefully. While he was grateful that he had finally found someone in this floating town, she was not from here, and therefore potentially dangerous in his eyes. But perhaps she was simply like he was; confused and aptly curious as to why he had ended up here in the first place. And why there was no one else around.
He stopped a few feet from her, a polite enough distance for them to comfortably speak without running the risk of  feeling like a threat himself.
Exhaling in a disappointed huff, the Salesman smiled easily in return, âI suppose it does. I fear it might just be the two of us here, presently; I havenât seen anyone else since arriving either.â
He blinked then, noting the subtle shift in her tone and the way she was now moving towards him. His eyes locked on her, watching with that unwavering smile. She wasnât Hylian, of that much he was certain due to her skin tone and the clothes she wore. In fact she wasnât anything heâd come across before. Would she attack him?
âŚNo, she was simply wary of him. Naturally. It was hard not to be where everyone else seemed to have vanished. His smile stretched a fraction wider as she loomed over him. If she was trying to be intimidating, she was going to need to do more than stand a few inches taller than him and smirk.
"Of course not," he returned lightly. "If I were meaning to do that, why would I have called out and made myself known to you first? The element of surprise was in my favor."
A soft chuckle tumbled from his lips as he continued, âFear not, Iâm afraid you must have just been very deep in thought. Though I have been told that I walk far too quietly for comfort. Hehe, perhaps I should start wearing a bell.â
Midna stood tall and cocked an eyebrow. How anticlimactic. But his manner did nothing to set her suspicions at ease.
"For comfort, but not for me," she responded to his last, crossing her arms. People--normal people--didn't just sneak up on her. Especially not her.
She dropped the matter and let her hands fall to her hips, alighting gracefully.
"I don't suppose you managed to sneak up on anyone else?" she asked. How many was this, now? She should be keeping a tally.
You look fairly familiar. And only a little too short, ehehe.
"Hey, Iâm not shoâ" Link turned to see the one talking to him but was taken aback by the tall lady standing before him, and nearly fell on his bum. Thankfully he didnât do that, but he did feel a tad short now. Especially seeing how tall this lady is. She didnât look like anything heâs ever seen, though.
"I donât think we met! But Iâm Link! Who might you be?"
Light World? It seemed Midna had a bit of knowledge with different kinds of worlds, and it made him curious as to what kind of worlds were out there. The only one he knew of was the world linked to his.
"Your world sounds like a really nice place." But it seemed like it would be too dark for his liking. Then, he wouldnât know unless he actually visited it somehow. Any world can be beautiful.
Her smug grin catches him off guard a little, and it made him wonder if she was up to no good. Well, heâll be keeping a close eye if she does happen to! But for now, he follows after her and almost bumps into her back for not wanting to fall behind. Thankfully he caught himself just in time, and peeks around the tent.
"It looks like an empty marketplaceâŚ" He words out softly.
"How astute," she replied, stepping past him and into the aisle. Still, she sympathized with his awe; the effect was chilling. Once again, the place looked preserved, free of dust but also of wear. Time. Everything looked, dare she think, brand-new. Not used. Like this was a crafted place.
For timing, she passed what appeared to be a corner workshop and paused. There could be useful tools here...
"When did you arrive?" she called, gliding her hand over the counter as she swayed behind it. Crouching, she examined the mallets, wrenches, pliers and other assorted metal implements.

(256): you were saying "I am the vodka queen!" and then in a different voice replying to yourself "All hail the vodka queen! you are so beautiful!"
((Thank you Raph for your marvelous suggestion for the TFLN ask game, this is the best one yet haha.))
Ghost Town
'Finally'? She had been looking for residents? For what purpose was she hunting them down? And given the reaction that he seemed to be getting from others whenever he revealed he lived here, any pathetic hopes he'd had left that he might encounter someone he knew died completely. He sighed, chewing his lip as he contemplated how to word his reply. Keep it brief, he decided. A demon would have no patience for waffling.Â
"I did. I, erâŚ" He looked towards the edge of the island and the sea of nearly unbroken cloud beyond. "There was a hole in the clouds. I went through, found some kind of gate, went through it, and ended up back here, except with everyone missing. Is⌠is that what you did, too?" Â
"In a manner of speaking," she shrugged. "I was home, minding my own business, when a large gate and portal appeared. I would have left it alone, were it not for my...history with portals.
"And I arrived there," she went on, nodding past him toward the plaza. "I haven't been here long."
