I’ve been asked to pay yet another brassy, belty, lesbian in a musical.
I’ve found my type, y’all.
...which is weird, but whatever! I’m castable! lol
also- straight privilege here- this will be lesbian role #3 for me, & only one of those was written as a well-rounded, real person, and that was because my love interest was written to be a man. I try to realize the individual with a full life, diverse thoughts, and well-rounded character impulses, but each lesbian role I’ve played has almost been the butt of a joke.
Which, okay, let’s be honest, I always play funny character ladies, so maybe it isn’t limited to “lesbian characters” as much as it’s the characters that Kacy is cast in, but still I think it’s worth noting.
Having said that, I’m very excited to play this part. I’ll keep you posted.
