It's perfectly reasonable that I have decided, based on ambient cultural information, that Ready Player One will not be my jam and I'm not going to read it. What that means, though, is that I have very little information about Ready Player One. I am not an authority on Ready Player One. If there's a discussion of the character development or worldbuilding or plot structure in Ready Player One, I can listen, but I can't really contribute, because I have not read it and thus am missing quite a lot of information about it.

The Washington-Adams transition made perfect sense, Adams was the VP and Washington wanted him to win. But the Election of 1800 was incredibly acrimonious, and was only settled after thirty-six ballots in the House (and the intervention of Hamilton). Adams and Jefferson hated each other, believed the other offered a fundamentally broken path for America, and had spent the last six years feuding quite viciously. In another revolution, this was the transition where the president said "no, I don't trust my successor" and held onto power.

But Adams believed so strongly in American democracy (it was certainly partly his baby) that he stepped back and peacefully transferred power to Jefferson.

In the second reprise, George III goes "John Adams? They're going to eat him alive." He wasn't entirely wrong, but it absolutely did not spell doom for America as he hoped.
