ASOULJOURNY

Tis too long since I have dreamed dreams and walked among them.

There are days that make us and days that break us. Surely we have far more control over the prior, thus our days should be filled with much more of the days that make us. Even amid the days of breaking, there are opportunities for making a new.

Thoughts, words, feeling swirl in the vortex of my mind. Humming like a turbine, driving my fever up even more. The maladies racking my mind, body and soul are of my own creation. Perhaps not the virus that scourges my body, I certainly was not it's progenenator, but my choices put me into it's path and dropped me into this crucible. Much to the protest of my mind, I am not dieing. Merely melodramatic, the suffering is real, but it is not beyond besting. Would I not an adult male, surely my circumstances would be much more manageable. For all our bravado, we are certainly the weakest lot of the human race, lacking in the constitution of the female and resiliency of children. So I sit in this maelstrom, powerless to calm the tempest buffeting my soul. My only relief, dumping some prose, in attempts to slow fever.

Sweet siren of oblivion, lead me to your vexxing, into the void I sail. My compass set on shoreless seas and shrouded nights. Darkness my machinating guide.  May the gulls never for find me in the sweet caress of the mist.
