"Do you fear anything or anyone??"
-Belladonna
"I have answered this a few times, Belladonna. I am afraid of fire. And I do not want my husband to know I have this debilitating fear."
Putting her claw on her own skulled face. "Yea. I think you and I will get along JUUUUST fine."
Lisa looked back up at Belladonna, "And what do you mean by that? You asked. I'm afraid of fire."
The Werewolf gave a chuckle. "Let this Old Hag give you a History Lesson, young Lady." She half joked. "I have a lot of the same ideals as your husband, and even more rooted. Not certain if he had mentioned the previous Master of the Castle, Walter Bernhard. But, he was the one who had brought me to Unlife. I was once something MUCH different. But, being more weak to Flame than the average being IS, humans burned my face off with their Magic." She sighed. "So, I share that same vulnerability."
Lisa let her defenses down a bit before reaching her hand up to touch Bella's face, "I am so sorry that is a pain we share. We both deserve better, you know?" She sighed, shaking her head, "Um. Do fireplaces scare you too? I even find it hard to tend the daily fire while remaining calm."
Those glowing orbs in place of eyes slowly disappeared, as if she was closing her eyes. "Thank you, Mrs. Lisa. You are truly very kind." She slowly 'opened' them again. "They used to centuries ago....." She then snapped her fingers, as pendant appearing out of thin air. "Here. I have no use for this being Undead as I am. This will help protect you." A golden Dragon carrying a ruby in it's claw. "It will save you from any future fire. You will not get burned again." A fire immunity magic necklace...
Lisa took the pendant and looked at it. She felt tears well in her eyes, "I... I don't have to be afraid anymore. I don't have to live in fear anymore. I can just..... And this really works?" She looked at Belladonna, eyes wide from trying not to cry, when she was just so grateful someone would give her something like this.
"When I was much younger, Walter allowed me to be an adventurer. I had to hide in human form of course but had gotten this pendant from a Red Dragon's Hoard. It protected me from the blasts of his wrathful breath, so it should protect you from a mere fireplace." She chuckled. Her Undead heart ached for the woman. She just wanted to help her. "I'm not going to allow what happened years ago to occur again. I promise."
Lisa looked at the pendant, then back to Bella. Getting so bold, she wrapped her arms around her, "Thank you," She spoke softly, "Thank you so much. This..... It won't help with the mental aspect of it, but it will make it tolerable when I need to do such a small task. Thank you, Bella."
Those large ears perked up. For an Undead being, her fur was well kept and soft. She gently gave a hug back. This. This was a moment she was not used to, even from Walter, but not unwelcome. "It's the least I can do for someone so kind and gentle, even to the most Monsterous of beasts. Thank YOU, Mistress Lisa."
"I live with monstrous beasts. Sleep with the king of them and everything," Lisa chuckled, "It's strange. I feel like I've been treated more like a person by so-called monsters than I ever was with fellow humans. That's so strange to me. It shows that it shouldn't be hard."
"Humans have been cruel to each other since the dawn of time, Mistress Lisa." She shook her head. "It's in their nature. To maim and maul when they cannot understand. To burn it to the ground."
"And burn me they did," Lisa said with a sigh. She looked at the amulet once more, "We can change minds. Humans are still capable of so much good, even if it is misguided at times."
"I've seen that. Only once. Your husband actually had a dear friend when he was a human. Imagine that. But, of course, said friend was determined to get his betrothed back. Even if I hated him for trying to kill the one being I would fully bow to, I honestly had pity. The other warriors that Walter had faced came to him to try to kill him from Greed, from Malice. Leon Belmont. Was different."
