Hi max and safi , if you two were to go on a cute date would it have been an abandon building photoshoot again? Or something more like an ice cream date like max's journal mentioned before when you guys first met! Coffe date? Barnes and Noble date?
Max: Okay wow, uh first of all, Iām blushing. Second of all... this is a painfully hard choice??
I mean, taking Safi to an abandoned building is kind of a no-brainer. She looks stupidly good in moody lighting, and watching her try to pose on a broken windowsill like sheās in a Vogue shoot while I yell "donāt fall!!"... definitely could be a core memory.
But ice cream dates are sweet in a completely different way. She always picks the weirdest flavor, on the board just to be chaotic, and then ends up stealing mine. Every. Time. (Not that I mind. Itās kind of become our thing.)
Coffee dates are risky though. Caffeine turns her into a complete menace like, sheāll start reciting poetry in fake accents or flirting with the barista just to make me jealous. But she always saves me the foam art, so. I guess I forgive her.
And bookstores? Thatās like... sacred territory. I love watching her eyes scan the shelves like she's hunting for something important. We always end up in the poetry section. And I always end up taking a photo of her when sheās not looking , well sort of actually I still can't get a good photo of her and she won't let me.
So yeah. All of them. Safiās the kind of person who makes anywhere feel like the right place to be. Even if itās just... sitting on a curb, eating half-melted ice cream and talking about the moon.
Oh my goddd, not you exposing us with Maxās journal receipts! Honestly? Iād say yes to all of the above and second of all , rude that youāre making me choose between climbing through tetanus-laced windows or letting Max pick out a weird indie zine while I pretend not to be watching her the whole time. (Spoiler: Iām always watching. Especially when sheās biting her lip trying to pick between rocky road or matcha swirl.)
Honestly? The abandoned bowling alley building shoot was iconic. Grimy floor, broken windows, that one giant bowling mascot monster that wouldn't stop judging us...peak romance. But thereās something about the simplicity of a bookstore date. The soft quiet, the coffee in-hand, the way she gets lost flipping through photography books and forgets Iām there. (Not really. She never forgets Iām there.)
Coffee date? Dangerous. I talk too much when Iām caffeinated and Max just stares at me like Iām a puzzle she almost has figured out.
So maybe⦠ice cream first, bookstore second, coffee date , and breaking into a condemned theater after dark? A perfect date is a little sweet, a little dangerous, and a lot of me.
Sorry, Max. You knew what you signed up for.
