Ohhh, a day to be truly joyous!

Rui had been bustling about, a rather chipper expression as the blond seemed to busy himself with cleaning around the house. Humming happily some tune that caught itself on repeat in his head. The Carpenters, he was pretty sure. When he came to Ed’s room, Rui paused briefly before deciding to give a knock.

“Ed, you awake?” He called in. Voice not holding any annoyance within.

‘Sorry, cutie! Super busy today! But next time we meet, I’ll be sure to make it up to you!’ Or some variation of this.

Lips still curved, the reaper cursed male bounding in with joy as the heavy door shut on its own. Concealing them both within.

More focused on the echo chamber within his inner world, Rui would only be mindful to avoid any contact that he could avoid. Silent in his movements as he seemed familiar with where everything belonged. Though, nagging was not accompanied this time around.

And, as if it were pulled out suddenly from him, the blond would glance over at his house companion and then speak up. Abruptly.

What was on his mind now laid bare.

“Do you worry about the world ending when you’re immortal?”

Ed looked up from the magazine he had been reading. It seemed many of today's youth loved writing articles about romance and dating in the age of technology and the woes of loneliness. How novel he found all of it. Back in his prime, humans had to rely on long awaited letters, arranged matches, and dark, dingy taverns to find such companionship. Folding the corner of the page he was reading, he set it aside on a nearby table. It seemed Rui was in another one of his dark moods. Good. His tears would be delicious. The corners of his lips lifted. "Why would I worry about such a thing? The world ends every day, every minute, actually, for somebody."

“Nothing bothers you, does it?” A tad sarcastic in his reply before setting the clothes he had begun to gather neatly on Ed’s plush bed. Then, a seat for himself. Body already sinking against the overly plush mattress. Pale ruby eyes scanning his captain. “The thought of the world ending is scary to me.”

At the face of a newcomer, though one Rui recognized as one of the first years, he’d flash a friendly smile. A subtle head tilt at the question offered up.

“Throw you out? As long as you’re not causing a scene, I don’t see why you can’t enjoy a drink?” Not as if he served actual alcohol to anyone, anyways. Well- maybe for some regulars if they were celebrating something special. But that was a different topic.
