Nick Nack

He just blinked as her mane started making sounds, “What was that and why do you have it in your mane?” He tilted his head slightly as he stared at her mane, “We can continue on in a little bit if you don’t mind telling me about that thing. If not then… well I don’t mind really.”

He gave a quick look around to be sure they aren’t being watched by any creatures and double taking before he walked over to a tree and laid down to look at some mushrooms growing at the base, “hmm…”

《 ⚡ 》 || “Just an alarm clock. You know, for keeping the time. Among a...few other things. I’m guessing you don’t hide things on your person then?”

Licking her hoof and slicking her mane back into place and cleared her throat. Hopping a few steps into a trot to catch up with Night Shade she leaned over to see what he was looking at.

“It’s not usual at all. I’ve only ever heard of six existing and only saw the two in these woods.” He looks towards the trees where it had left, “we should be fine for now, if I remember correctly it’s cave is somewhere over that way” he points to the north east before turning to her with a smile.

“Oh, your mane is a bit messy now.” He reaches over and pulls at a twig in her mane, “Wait just a moment and I’ll get the debris out” he said as he tried fixing her mane, trying not to pull her hair out in the process

《 ⚡ 》 || Raising a brow as she glanced between him and the way he had pointed before humming a short ‘mhm’.

Perking one ear up and flattening the other Nick Nack blinked.

“My mane? Oh jeez, yes I do pick up a few things from time to time. Thanks”

Laughing sheepishly it was interrupted by something in her mane that had begun chattering in all the kerfuffle, making her head judder. Quickly putting a hoof down on her mane to stop it she huffed.

“It’s like a bear, but bigger and made of stars.” As he finished describing it the blue ursa minor came into view, pushing past the trees that were barely taller than it was. Many of the trees getting knocked aside as the spectral creature walked past, growling softly.

It didn’t seem to notice them as its large paws left no imprints on the floor. The only indication that it past were a few uprooted trees, a moment after it disappeared into the forest night stepped out of the bush, “that was an Ursa, a baby one though.” He listened for any sounds before turning to her, “hopefully it doesn’t come back soon, the first reagent I need is not too far ahead. Ready to continue? ”

《 ⚡ 》 || Buttoning her mouth and holding her breath as she heard the creature lumber about and splinter apart many a tree in the process, Nick Nack waited until Night Shade spoke again to gasp in relief.

“Goodness me. Made of stars. What a concept.”

Poking her head fully out of the bush after her half fragmented sentence she shook her head to refocus herself.

“I mean that’s...not usual, is it?”

“No, at least I have never see them tunnel.” he looks around, the trees far ahead of them start shaking, “I think it’s something bigger… quick if it’s what I think it is we need to get out of its way.”

He goes to the right, keeping an eye on the plants and bushes as he goes, “you don’t want to get in the way of an ursa, they get cranky very easily especially the ursa minor.” he crouches behind a bush as he waits for the ursa to come into view.

《 ⚡ 》 || Gritting her teeth and cantering on the spot for a brief moment Nick Nack let out a equally brief ‘eep’ before diving into the closest set of bushes, her bushy hair still peeking out above it.

Now in her new position Nick Nack poked half of her face from the foliage as the rumbling continued.
