I need to release the topography map because it explains a lot but essentially; Spades' entire landmass is along the edges because the edges of the continent on the South side are all sharp cliffs with rocky shores that are connected to even higher mountains. The Spadians of this world are a hardy cold costal group who live in the highlands and have carved their cities into the rock of the sides of cliffs. It's hard to get fully over the mountains, especially because of past issues, but they used to have more land across the rolling hills of Diamonds and the snowy peaks of clubs, but over the last few wars theyve lost a lot of ground and have been on the back foot for the last 150~ years.

Heyhey! Thank you so much for the ask! Sorry it's been so long, and I am glad you like the map! I'm gonna answer this myself, since it would make more sense that way.

Mixed nationality is more common than many Carzians think, and many people have a mixed based magic. There is indeed magic in this world, specifically it is magic of the Earth. The way that the Carzians understand it is, the Earth chooses a King, with a specific power or range of magic, and from them it is passed to their royal court, and then to their citizens.

In this AU, that is why Kings are so important to their societal structure. Every person who is born in this world on their first day in the world in the old days were laid to sleep on the soil, or in some of the more modern cities and kingdoms, laid in their bed with a King's Stone.

The King's Stone is charged with the Kings magic, so everyone in the same suit is often charged from similar magic. But of course there are those who are born of one nations and charged with another courts magics, or someone with mixed lineage parents.

This magic is the common one that all races can use.

The other kind of magic thats common to the world is Moon Magic, Magic from the stars and blessings from the moon.

This is one that those born as Astraers and those who have been blessed by the stars can use, but in exchange their earthly magic is weaker. It's kinda a give and take. Moon Magic seems to negate the magic of the Earth in a lot of cases, but in other cases, it's so weak it barely effects the Earth. Almost like moon phases themselves.

This generation of characters, this setting of the world is only barely studying moon magic, since it is often so rare- people are able to summon the stars for guidence on moon magic but no one really knows fully how it works, even those who are blessed with it.

England: She is much younger than my last wife, and neither of us were very delighted, but it was what was best for our families. And it turns out the two of us have more in common than we thought.

Belarus: ufu~ He presents as a high noble man, but what rests underneath is an anarchist punk who loves to speak to the spirits in the halls. He's freak, I like that.
