???: “I’m sorry for interrupting you on your way, though I’m keeping watch over this part of the forest-

Would you mind introducing yourself?”

“Huh…? But you’re-”

???: “A human, yeah.”

“So… how do you understand me?”

???: “Eh… long story. But more importantly… my last question. Are you okay?”

Zero pauses. “A-ah, sorry, I’m just not used to the eye getting….compliments! It’s flattering…..sorry for shouting.” They clear their throat. “Anyway, I learned how to fly from my dad, but I don’t think the wings I have actually let me fly, I think it’s more…levitation for my species. I-I kinda just flutter them when I’m happy, really.” They sound a little embarrassed about that. “So I don’t think I’d be able to show you how, cuz you look like you have proper flight wings…sorry.”

“Oh!! That’s okay!! You can levitate? That’s even cooler! You’re super cool!!”

“Th-Thank you, mister…”

She seems to be clinging to him a bit, leaning into his soft fur.

“Y-You’re… really soft…”

“And… my name’s Dawn… th-thank you for keeping me company…”
