What UP I’m Ben! Yes, my parents were Rebellion heroes. Yes, my uncle is a Jedi. Me…I’m just try’na make it through my twenties without succumbing to total cosmic darkness. Graduated college in 28 ABY, got married in 31 ABY…my five-year-plan is to just keep winging it and hoping for the best.

OH thanks yeah I…haven’t eaten yet today…well first I was freaking out ‘cause I couldn’t find ANY OF THE FIVE WEDDING BANDS (I bought a pack of five really cheap ones because I knew I was gonna lose ‘em I knew I was gonna lose ‘em I knew I was gonna lose ‘em—the problem was that I forgot. Where I put. The baggie that had all of them in it). Amalia and the guys and I tore up my room and found them inexplicably in my underwear drawer (wait…no actually I do remember that now…) which led to Amalia roasting me for my podracer print boxers (they were a set with the pajamas, I got rid of the pajamas, but I didn’t have the heart to—well anyway)

WHAT WAS I SAYING OH YEAH THE RINGS. Anyway we found ‘em and then we got all our stuff together and now the guys and me are gettin’ ready and I have been carting around the wastebin next to me because I am so so scared I’m gonna throw up but I think I can eat a pack of gillfish crackers, the rainbow ones but only the red ones picked out, I know they’re the same but I’ve always thought they tasted better, I CAN’T FOCUS MY BRAIN IS FRIED I’ll go drink some water right now and—oh haha take my meds (IMPORTANT) and I will TRY NOT TO PASS OUT AT THE ALTAR, THANK YOU

Firstly: It’s a privilege to be here to celebrate you and Fannie, and I’m ready as I’ll ever be to cry tomorrow. (Nothing bad, I promise—weddings just get to me.) Your friends are so generous with their joy, and you and your fiancée have already been such wonderful hosts. As for the mimosa pitcher…I think a little tipsy merrymaking can be excused on the eve of your wedding. No judgment from this dry bird.

Secondly: Nerves are normal. But no matter how loud those anxious thoughts get, I hope you can believe me when I tell you that it was obvious to everyone around that table how much you and Fannie care for each other. The way you look at each other—even in fond exasperation—is the stuff they write holonovels about.

Lastly: I want to offer you both a traditional wedding blessing from my culture: “May you grow old together on one pillow.”

Congratulations, and may the Force be with you both.

I guess I’m still afraid I’ll mess it all up again. I think I was kinda getting on her nerves today. I was getting a little silly from all the excitement, and I could tell I was starting to test her patience. What if a year or three or five or ten down the line, she just can’t handle me anymore?

Ohhh man, it’s really happening—I can’t believe it. Two years ago I never would’ve imagined this… I mean, two years ago I couldn’t even imagine the concept of dating her. And now…

…Wow. Did not know this was going to be my life.

And I could say that about a lot of things that have happened to me lately, but…this is one thing I actually chose.

I love you guys and I’m sorry I’m missing everything!

Yeah, I know, man…what’s up with that…still can’t believe you’d rather recover from surgery than come to my wedding, geez…
