Ask Sugar and Shadow

Ask Sugar and Shadow was a blog Lisa and I started over the summer before eighth grade. We had a love for MLP and a story we wanted to tell. In the five years since then, a lot has changed.

At this point, I am no longer in contact with Lisa and I don’t intend for that to change. To put it frankly, our relationship as friends was unhealthy and particularly toxic for me. I’m not in the business in airing out personal problems to strangers on the internet, so I won’t go into detail on this.

Personally, I would love to continue this blog, to realize the story it was born to tell. But I can’t do it on my own. I don’t have the time or energy or skill to do that. And I’m not willing to compromise my mental health/wellbeing by reconnecting with Lisa to do so. 

So, at this point, my answer is that no, in all likelihood, this blog will never be ‘continued’. I am so thankful for all the people who saw something in us, in this, and I’m sorry we didn’t keep our promises to you. This blog had a huge impact on the latter half of my childhood. No matter what’s happened in the interim, it will always hold a place in my memories. But, for now, it’s time for me to lay it to rest.

Still, I’m sure I’ll see you all soon.

Guess who got a drawing tablet after running this blog for nearly five years?! That’s right; no more drawing on paper and then scanning it in, then redrawing it on my laptop! I can do it all in one go! 

can you tell i’m excited?

I just thought it would be appropriate to share this with you hear on the blog, considering that some of you have been here from the beginning, where we only shared bad hard-drawn pictures. I know I’ve been pretty inactive lately, and I don’t foresee that changing anytime soon, considering I’ve just started my last year of high school, so I’m going to officially put the blog on indefinite hiatus. That doesn’t mean I won’t be posting occasionally, but I think it’s just fair to us all if I’m honest and say that I’ve almost never had the time or resources to really build this blog and the story we envisioned for it, and that’s just not something likely to change. Regardless, thank you all for your patience, and, hopefully, I’ll be seeing you all soon.

Finally working on something again. 

It has no relevance to the story, but it’s something, right?

Anyways, haven’t really had a lot of free time lately, so updates soooo aren’t picking up, but I’ll try to get some stuff out.

Thanks for sticking with us while we get our shit together and try not to lapse into comas due to sleep deprivation.

after dreaming up this character persona like two years ago, i have finally designed a body that i am content with. also, i decided to name him set after the Egyptian god, and he is the base antagonist in our story.

Hey so, I thought I would mention how we are creeping up on 1000 followers, which is freaking crazy. When we do, eventually, get there, we will be doing another egg giveaway thing. Also, the first story arc will be starting up sometime in the new year, hopefully, so look out for that. 

Actually, speaking of the story, Lisa and I are both shit at backgrounds and most drawing tbh, at least in my case so if any of you would be willing to help out, please message us. That would be great!
