'Smiling Brightly'

He sets his skirt on the sink counter, nodding at her list before climbing up onto it & beginning to search through the cabinets. He was a little sort to reach from the ground, & he had to grab what was necessary somehow. “On it,  Mom!” he gives a salute, wiggling a bit due to momentarily letting go of the shelf he was holding onto, managing to straighten up before he fell. “Let’s see.. found the peroxide, detergent is probably down lower.” pulling the bottle out, he takes a quick glance in the mirror, double checking for any situational evidence on his face. He was lucky there was no black eye today, otherwise Rin would have much more to say about the situation. 

They continue to scroll through the article on their phone, reading the directions carefully and giving Mikuo a nod of acknowledgment once answered and hearing the movements to getting supplies.

While reading the last bit of what they would need to know, there was a in-the-back-of-the-mind thought of why this was a situation Mikuo would need. No need to pry, I don’t think...

“Do you think it’ll work?” he falls into step with them pretty quickly, lightly rubbing at the spot with his thumb. “Some of it came off on my hand, does that mean it’s not too dry?” he’s a bit desperate, if his voice doesn’t show that enough already. What could he say, he loved this skirt too much to part with it. “What does it take, anyway? Hopefully I have what you need.”

They gave a little nod as they opened the door to the bathroom and quickly digging out their phone to look up what exactly it was they would need to clean the stain. “If it’s wiping off, I think we’re golden.”

“It’s been there a few hours.” that was all the detail he would let slip, as he couldn’t exactly just tell her what had happened. It wasn’t as if blood magically appeared on things, but he’s thankful that she hasn’t questioned him just yet about its origin. “Since not long before I got out of work. It should come out, then, right? This is one of my favorites..” he’d hate to get rid of it over this little fuck up. “We can try, either way. I hope it works.”

They give a small nod, “Uhmm...Yeah, yeah, I think that should be fine. The goal would be not to let it dry very much, but if it was today...” They move  their hand over their mouth, giving the situation of the clothing a bit of thought.

Happily skips to the park and start looking around for something to do

“Oh!” His eyes open up wider, as he gets more and more interested on them “Song writing, that sounds- whoa! So nice!” He runs a hand over his hair, excitedly “I myself don’t know much about music, actually, but I sure do love it! And, whoa, you work with it! How is it? Is it hard?”

“It’s something about the way you act; I just can’t put my finger on it… But it’s telling me that you know Mikuo. Are the two of you close?”

There’s a few moments of silence, Konami simply standing there for a second before gently taking the money from them. “Konami didn’t expect to get this far.” they give a salute & a bow in thanks before scurrying off back to their game machine, beginning to play as if they hadn’t stopped in te first place. After a few moments, they re-approach the stranger, a big grin on their face. “Thank you, thank you! Konami is very grateful that stranger let Konami beat the high score!”

They nod slightly and give a small wave as the child runs off to the games. In waiting for the O-K to leave, they lean on their hand, arm on the table.
