When was the last time this blog got some substantial content? Like, halloween? Half a year ago? 

I’m sorry that I have not been able to post here more. This blog started November 8th, 2012. SEVEN years ago. And things have changed a lot since then. This project started as a way for me to practice storytelling and art, and to connect with the community. I never really expected it to get so big or last so long. I also had way more free time back then.

With the final season of MLP upon us, perhaps it is time Octavia and Vinyl got an ending as well. Not that I want to do that. There are still many stories I want to explore. Questions about Octavia’s ensemble, about Vinyl’s workplace, their other friends, their family, their struggles, their drama, their relationship, their origins; I’d like to think I’ve created some interesting characters worth exploring. 

But this has always been a story about their lives. And life goes on. And so will it for these two wonderful girls. I just want to provide what I hope will be a satisfying conclusion to the story that’s been told so far. It’s not going to tie up all of the loose ends, it’s not even going to answer a lot of the more popular and pressing questions. But it will leave room, the girls’ lives will continue even if we’re no longer a part of it. And maybe they’ll be back to answer those questions some day. 

So, in the coming months, I’m going to be going into the final arc for the story of Octavia and Vinyl Scratch. I hope you’ll all enjoy and join me as we say farewell to the girls who I hope have inspired a few of you in your lives as they have mine. 

And who knows. This is definitely not something I’m going to forget, and it’s not something I’m abandoning. I’d like to come back to this. Perhaps when I have more time, when life stops bombarding me with-- well... life. 

Don’t be sad that it’s ending, be happy that it happened. And thank you to everyone, fans new and old, for being with me on this journey as it comes to an end.

At this point it’d be too much trouble to do that.

Vinyl and I have a private life. I started this blog as a way to motivate myself to do more productive things. Work on my music, build my relationships, connect with fans. 

But I’m not a blogger, I’m a musician at heart, and it’s probably time I returned to that. I would like to go back to touring regularly with the Manehattan Ensemble, and I’m sure Vinyl would like to break out of the Manehattan circuit and do bigger things with her music.

This is definitely something Vinyl and I need to discuss in private at greater length. But there’s something else we need to worry about right now
