           DESPITE  HIS  QUESTIONING  being  redundant,  kanda  intended  to  gather  any  underlying  information  he  could.  for  the  time  being,  whatever  it  was  that  was  causing  the  disturbances  within  the  town  seemed  dormant,  but  innocence  and  akuma  were  unpredictable.  while  lavi  was  out  dealing  with  another  instance  on  the  outskirts,  kanda  was  left  to  take  care  of  this  as  quickly  as  he  could.  yet  he  couldn’t  help  but  take  note  of  the  boy’s  curiosity.  perhaps  he  was  drawn  to  the  innocence?

          ❛         FINE.  I’D  suggest  you  clear  out  then,  unless  you  want  to  become  akuma  food.         ❜

          To ignore his warning and press forward, such an action seemed rather strange -- usually after hearing such concerns, most would head away from the source. Not towards it. Though this stranger seemed to know what he was doing, Ashiya couldn’t help but stay concerned. He pouted, his lips pursed together as he started after the ( military? ) man. In any case, he left his gaze fixed upon the silver linings, making sure they stayed within sight. Again, he let his stubbornness get the better of him.

          By now, his figure has arisen as he forces his body to straighten, awaken, even if it remains somewhat slouched. If anything, his own senses were more sensitive to the growth of malevolence, acute to the yokai having taken root into and through their foundation. Such demonic seeds had bloomed times before, giving birth to life more ugly, more vile than the last. Nevertheless, as not only as an exorcist but as a human teenager at that, his options remained severely limited. A sigh escapes him, reiterating a statement breathed only moments before, although Ashiya dropping the matter was as likely as it dissipating entirely  ;  slim to none.

          “As much as you say to ignore it...”

          He shifted his gaze to the side, past his unaware classmates, into the busy hallways. He couldn’t help but be worried for them -- as they knew nothing. Knowing too well himself the suffocating feeling of pressure, the fear of the unknown ( the unseen ). Yet that was only the beginning as he only briefly thought of the anxiety felt by the demon who was possibly stuck in the human world. Only briefly deterred by Abeno’s glare, he stood his ground, his stubbornness getting the better of him. He could only pray his intuition wasn’t fooling him this time -- unless the Abeno had hidden plans.

         At least, it did so minutes ago with the pricks of cold icing his senses. Yet, without having been hired for a specific exorcism, there was no need to act on such information. Instead, all it provided was meager discomfort, passed the physical but also in knowing that there was a demon wandering aimlessly. Yet, nearly a decade strong down this path, it was not anything out of the ordinary  ——  at least for him, Ashiya exempt from such experience. He reiterates what seems obvious to him, golden eyes peeking out from his sleepy fort of arms.

          “But...”

          He paused, drawing out the vowels in his words as he leaned forward, bringing his gaze closer to Abeno as if he could bypass his arms and sleepy aura. He understood very well the strain that came with the daunting title of ‘mononokean master’ and yet this eerie feeling that came from being possessed was too difficult to ignore. Since when had the school been under the influence of a demon -- surely, something to this scale couldn’t be ignored ( even if it wasn’t actually a job ). 

           “Wake up, Abeno-san, wake up! There’s a strange chill surrounding the school...”
