Aruani Christmas Week 2018: Day two - Presents/Gifts
A book, it is
âMommy! Daddy! Itâs here!â Annie smiled at the happines of her daughter. She had been patiently waiting for that day. âThe presents are under the tree! Quick!â
âTheo sweetie, the presents wonât disappear. We have to wait for Dadâ, said Annie as she patted her head.
âI know Mommy but I wanna open them now! Can I?â, Theo asked enthusiastically. âItâs Christmas Day after all!â
Annie sighed in defeat. How could she say no? âGo onâ, she said, watching Theo rush to unwrap her present. She reminded her of Armin. They both had the same sparkling eyes, full of life.
âHello, your Majestyâ, Annie heard Armin say as he walked his way downstairs. Speak of the devil.
âMajestyâŚ?â, Annie asked letting out a chuckle.
âWhy yes of course. Youâre my ice queen.â
âI thought you had stopped calling me that.â
âItâs a Christmas specialâ, Armin winked and kissed her on the lips. âMerry Christmas, love!â
âMerry Christmas, Arminâ, she cooed while smiling. It was indeed a wonderful Christmas day.
âDad, Dad, look! Look what Santa brought me!â Theo ran towards them, face red in excitement, holding a book in her hands.
âLet me see, sweetieâ, Armin said, brushing Theoâs hair off her face. She showed him the book; it had a blue cover, the title written on it with big, golden letters.
âThe Oceanâ, Armin read. He was glad his daughter had a passion for the ocean as much as he did. âMust be interesting! What if I read it to you tonight? How does that sound?â, he suggested.
âYes yes yes please!â Theo responded, hugging her dad with a bright smile on her face.
âTheoâ, called Annie, coming out of the kitchen. âYour breakfast is ready!â
âComing!â She hurried to the kitchen, taking her Christmas present with her to look at the pictures, leaving Annie and Armin alone.
âWell this-â, said Armin, pausing to get a wrapped present that was underneath the tree â-is for you.â He handed it to Annie, waiting for her reaction.
âItâs a bookâ, Annie responded before even opening it.
âItâs a bookâ, Armin confirmed, smiling at her.
âDisappointed but not suprisedâ, he heard Annie say. âOh, come on. You know meâ, he laughed, watching a small smile form on his wifeâs lips. That smile was the one he treasured the most.
âI do know youâ, Annie said. âThat is why I got you⌠this.â She gave Armin his present.
âA book?â, Armin exclaimed and looked at her, faking a surprised face.
âNo, a submarine.â
âA book, it is.â
