It is the worse thing when people consider an object of art valuable only once the artist has died. It is sad to know that artists are recognized only after they die and most people acclaim that normal by saying that's life...without noticing that art inspires everyone else, everything around us even the most industrial and technical designs, fashion design, architecture, graphical design every piece of dress, car, object we use daily was inspired once by art. Art is the source of everything living.
So why are artists pushed into giving their work for free and be taken for granted? Why are most artists struggling to sell their work, works that are more than mere objects? Each and every art is as valuable as the life of Man is, since what would Man's worth on Earth be without a Michelangelo, a Leonardo, a Dali, a Picasso, what would we do without the artworks of the Greeks, of Rome, of Babylonia... Why are doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc recognized professions worth enough to pay for whereas artists are considered as fun, interesting, unique but not more than that?
It seems no one really cares how artists can go on making fun, being interesting and bring more inspirations to all others. There is no magic potion to it, the artist is just as human as every other person on this Earth.
The problem is that as artists are forced to give art for free, the more it is dying, the more artists are forced into compromises, giving up their free expression and creation. Yes, artists are idealists and idealism has died long ago...this World misses its real Heroes, the Ones that brought about real change and that brought hope, dreams and colours into People's lives.
Most artists have given up or are not loyal anymore to their own original aims, expressions, thoughts and feelings. Art of today's world is more about shocking, brutality, pornography than about real messages, aesthetics, inspirations, magic. Is it necessary to be shocking for an artist to be seen, to be heard and to attract attention? The choice is both the artist's and all the rest who will actually determine what is appreciated, bought and what is not. Artists probably follow the trend of showing all that is shocking because they wish to be seen and heard and they feel there is no other way to be different, to stand out from the usual and to be considered as original.
Who cares about the future if we make prints of original paintings or just put together something in Photoshop and then throw them away when we do not like them anymore. It is the World of quick and easy things where anyone can call themselves pop stars, artists, actors with the help of technology and some clever computer software. The days are long gone where many years of mastery, of living the artist's journey, appreciation of hand-made craftsmanship, continuation of traditions were important to create real value.
Appreciation of Art starts from appreciating the Artist. Let me tell you this: an Artist creates also for your future, so that no emotion, feeling, heartbeat, passion, pain, struggle, hardship, moment of darkness and of light gets wasted!

There are only a few in our World who dare to be Don Quixote-s. Courage and insanity go hand in hand, since what is courageous for one is insane for another. For many creating freely is insanity, illusion and delirious. For an artist freedom is the only way of living, creating and contributing.
Freedom is to accept that there are no predefined things in the world, we as, individuals create everything, our mind is free to create, to own, to achieve, to destroy, to change, to break, to modify, to do anything we imagine! An artist captures the essence of this by tapping into the invisible world, to create from emotions, feelings, passion and faith and bringing it to the visible world with much courage on this tricky path.
I have learnt to think in big, from outside the limitations of my mind while failing in the small things, that my mind continuously made me believe to be of great importance. The more I kept to and was fixed to the “planned” things, the “planned” way, the “planned” circumstances, the external world, the more I failed and came out disappointed.
The artist knows well enough that beauty lies in the unknown, the unplanned, in the uncertainty of circumstances: that is where real magic lies. Art is not planned, schematic or certain just as in nature, where the most beautiful and fascinating phenomena are those that drops our jaws in amazement. Who does not love to watch the powerful, destructive beauty of storms as they are able to transform a landscape with such immense energy. And then when the storm passes, the light of the skies open up to continue with the transformation. Our life is just as miraculous as such wonderful transformations.
Thinking in big, without limits, limitations and with detachment gives the freedom to imagination, allows flexibility and creates space for things to happen, which is the mystery of life.
A creator, an artist is the symbol of someone who thinks above the mind, above the trivial mundane things and thinks in big, someone who is able to create things from nowhere and nothing. He or she is courageous enough to know that the trap of the known destroys individual freedom, the source of all creativity.
Art is supposed to uplift, to give and to inspire other people. Its aim is never self-centred, it is about giving, giving to other people, to Humanity, to the future generations. To be an artist is not a profession, a vocation but a calling. It is a calling to remind people of the importance of connecting to our Inner Selves.
Art’s purpose if to live forever, for many generations on, to capture a fragment in an artist’s life and to hold it for eternity, for a variety of different people to discover, feel and experience those moments again and again, fulfilling the artist’s life purpose for generations to come.
“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”
― William Blake, Auguries of Innocence
As a Creator I have often thought why is it that so many people I meet talk about how much they do not understand art.
I have been thinking since a long time about this thought pattern that people have in general about art. Where and why is this need to understand it there? Where does it come from? Why is it so deeply stuck in most people’s thoughts?
Can it be that the root of thinking in this way comes from our materialistic, industrial, technology world, based purely on thinking and the mind, the need to always understanding things? Our western consumer oriented world does not really support things where one can go beyond the mind and feel something. Usually such types of moments are labeled as lazy and are linked to doing nothing.
Only activities that are considered as useful, apprehensive for the rational mind, that are about doing something are valuable for modern society.
Art is certainly not an activity. It belongs to the Being in contrast to the Doing. Art is felt, contemplated, imagined that goes beyond something that has to be understood. An artist creates without the mind, without the rationalisation of things, without thinking about what and why he or she does when creating. It is a dimension where the mind cannot creep in, has no activity, no function and no power either.
An artist does not make art, an artist is art and so art is life itself.
In general our mind always seeks to understand things, people and events. It never stops wanting to analyse, question, compare, judge, make opinions. When we do not think just gaze at something, for example the nature or something that captures us, something beautiful, something that takes us to that world beyond thinking, we are linked to something much deeper than our thoughts. It is deeper than a simple emotion, it is a feeling of fullness, of wholeness, of inner tranquility.
Art is more than a concept, it is not something abstract that can be only “understood” by those who studied it, work around it, evaluate it, talk about it. Art uplifts and never devalues, it is for every single person and not only for a niche. A nation, a society can be said to be as conscious and able to provide for the future as much as it is able and seeks to support, enhance and care for art that is accessible for every single person.
My advice is never use your mind in front of an artwork and allow yourself time to feel, to look beyond the things you see. Allow yourself to be taken by what an artwork might want to tell you without knowing anything about it. In the midst of the noise of your mind you will find a space so graceful that you will know more about the artwork than if someone would have explained it to you. You will not only know more but you will add to your day something much more than you could by buying something that gives you momentary pleasure. These moments you will allow yourself with art will become precious and memorable.
