Thinking about Killian’s bird while I was listening to episode 10 and I was trying to imagine what sort of bird it would be and my mind’s jumped to the bird being a canary based off of vibes

Im probably thinking too deep into this and it could just be a bird that’s domestic to Greyview similarly to how you’d find pigeons and seagulls roaming around

But what type of common bird would Greyview be inhabiting? Crows? Magpies?

#oaths and empires #killian of blackrest #my thought process with that was how canaries were used to warn miners of dangerous gases #so then with Killian being able to command the bird and have it as his companion #that process however was immediately shut down when Killian was acting off in the watch tower #but a man can dream and potentially hope the bird is used as a character symbol and not just for fetching #also the thought of Killian having a decaying canary on his shoulder appeals to me for some reason #crying in non patreon member #anyway yap session over

Solus’ death in his vision being very jarring and anticlimactic (to me at least, him bringing upon light to Greyview for the first time in 800 years at the cost of him dying to this creature that was once in chains is sort of a positive, but also the suddenness of what comes after it is what gets me, like I FELT THAT)

compared to Killian’s being a death of absolution as he has followed in his grandfather’s footsteps and completed his work breaks my heart, though tbh any death that is solidified as inevitable in a narrative kills me anyway because wdym they’re destined to die just like that 🙁

And before we even see anything in regards to Anya’s vision I’m left hanging on the edge of my seat YET again

Why did I only just now discover a high quality picture of Killian and Solus’ runes right in the midst of drawing them after HOURS of closely inspecting their character art to draw them

KILLIAN’S RUNE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BIRD IN FLIGHT? (Dont ask why but for some reason I genuinely thought it was an anvil from how it looked in the character art)

MWAH.#I was drawing it and was like ‘ouhhh wait that’s so fire considering he’s a healer’#also bird imagery for Killian’s too? and considering his characterisation of taking risks and making his own decisions it’s also very MWAH #killius aside I think Anya’s is supposed to be a constellation (correct me if I’m wrong) but idk which one but nevertheless VERY VERY COOL

People of the land is my favourite out of the KCD1 ost and when combined with the main menu it gives me chills when combined with the main menu which is literally either the outskirts of Skalitz or Henry’s home (recent revelation).

Because this was his home as well as the home of the villagers that lived there, and for that to be suddenly burned down into nothing in what seemed to be in the span of minutes to hours is a jarring thought.

As well as the hint of melancholy, further into the track it also kind of gives this hopeful tone despite the strings showing the former lingering. It’s nice to listen to when you’re travelling and taking in the scenery and for some reason it’s good at putting me in a thoughtful state which is also why I’m quite fond of it
