I haven't been able to finish a single piece this year. Working on a commission for five plus days to get 35 dollars max is making me despise art and creating. I understand the perspective of commissioners after the gen ai boom and cost of living being unforgivable, you don't want to tip or pay more than that. I don't want to be a ~small artist~ that sells their own dropshipped enamel pins and acrylic keychains and other garbage.
I don't want to be a brand, I just want to enjoy making art like I used to. Till then I don't think I'll be doing commission work, not until I gain enough skill to sell my work for more than 30 bucks for 5+ days worth of rendering. But more importantly till I actually fall in love with making things again 🩷
