bright stars and burning hearts

     It’s probably not much of a surprise that Alyssa’s managed to find the amphitheater in the city. After all, she’s a dancer and she needs a place to dance around here. Even if she’s supposed to be learning magic here, she’s not about to give up on her dancing completely. It’s a part of who she is, and she’ll keep going it here as long as she’s able to.

     And it wasn’t like this place was bad or anything, and learning magic was great! She just...wanted more to be happening here. It’s a change of pace for sure, but not in a bad way. Alyssa welcomes what she’s managed to find her way into here, but she still wants to find something that brings her comfort.

     So that’s why she’s here. It’s somewhere she can dance so that’s what she’s going to do. No one’s around so it’s okay for her to be doing this, she figures. So she dances, as graceful as before, steps, spins, leaps, all of what she’s used to doing.

     And when she finishes, she can’t help but notice someone there. “Oh? Were you watching me? I hope it was good...it’s been a while since I’ve danced so I hope I’m not too out of practice.”

     It’s only nature with her being a dancer that she does it whenever she can, even if it’s when she’s walking. Nothing too fancy, just simple arm or leg movements, as to not accidentally hit someone. Besides, the complicated stuff was for the studio and that’s where she was trying to head.

     Alyssa would be lying if she said she wasn’t almost always listening to music wherever she went, humming or singing under her breath. She’s a dancer, music’s a much a part of her life as dance is.

     Though maybe she should’ve been playing a bit more attention to where she was going instead of the song she was listening to, as she promptly bumped into someone going the other way, landing on her behind as a result.

     Well, calk that up to her being careless yet again. She pushes herself back up onto her feet and walks over to the other, a hand offered out and a smile on her face.

     “Sorry about that; I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. Are you okay? I assume I ran into you back there, didn’t I?”

     “And a one, and a two and AH-!”

  Alyssa’s prompt counting had been interrupted by her losing balance and falling to the ground. Sure she was just practicing, but it did make perfect. Sure, she had been dancing since she was young, and while she wasn’t always the most balanced person in the world at times, it did annoy her when she messed up.

     “Oh well, that’s why we practice isn’t it? We just keep doing it to make ourselves better.” she said, looking up to the sky from the clearing she was in. “Alright let’s try that again!” She pushed herself back up, ready to try again. “And a one and a two!”

     Taking the routine from the top, she counted to herself out loud, making sure she was in time with her movements. Running through the movements in her head, she twisted and turned, moving with grace. Finishing the routine, she felt someone watching her and turned around to see someone standing away from her.

     “Ah, were you watching that?” she asked. She wasn’t that surprised at someone watching her, it happened a lot to her that she got used to it, but it was still a bit of a shock.

hi i have been dead. so dead here and i’m sorry for that! life kinda got busy for a while (and still kinda is but. less so than a month and half ago) but i’m not about to abandon this blog and my muses! i still owe starters from my first call and i’ll try to get to those soon!

    Music was warming to the heart– Although she was inclined to classical, she could appreciate all kinds of tunes. She was enthusiastic at the thought of knowing she encountered a fellow lover for the arts. She interlaced her fingers in front of her chest with a wide smile full of excitement and happiness. If it were up to her, Kaede wasn’t opposed to standing there for as long as she could. The tunes filling the streets were truly a pleasure.

    “That’s right! If there was a piano nearby, I’d gladly jump on that chance. Maybe Debussy’s Clair de Lune.. Ah, or Chopin’s Nocturne Opus 27 Number 1! Oops.. I’m rambling, aren’t I?”

    With a nervous laugh, she shook her head and ensured her attention was fully on the other girl. “Are you interested in music, too? Do you play an instrument?” How fun and relaxing it would be to talk musical terms with someone else! The thought alone seeped itself into her words as she spoke with heartfelt undertones.

     Alyssa could tell that the other girl was excited about all this, and she would be lying if she wasn’t as well. Back home she had so many friends that cared about music, whether they be involved in dance or theater or anything of the like. She hadn’t meet a lot of people in the city that were as passionate about music and dance as she was, so she was glad to fine the entertainers and of course, she was glad to find the girl that was as excited as she was. Even if they didn’t have the same interests with music, it was still nice to meet her.

     “You don’t have to worry about that, I don’t mind. After all, if I did mind I would’ve stopped you after all.“ Or she would’ve let her count to ramble, even if she wasn’t interested in music. She had heard the songs the other girl mentioned, so that was a good sign.

Music was a fascinating medium of expression. Where words could not explain, music could, weaving the intended message into an experience both heard and felt.

Thus, when Spica hears a tune of such feeling – something that brings a halt to his thoughts, something that fills his mind with emotions he’s not sure how to approach with, his curiosity brings him closer to the source.

From what he can tell, it’s someone….practicing, perhaps? Rehearsal or not, their performance is remarkable, and leaves him staring in awe.

Well, as much ‘awe’ as his face can express. Which is more than his usual, stoic face. But still pretty straight faced.

     Music was an important part of her life, having grown up around it for most of her life, and well, it was part of her studies after all. She just loved it after all, there were some things that music could say that words couldn’t, just like with dance after all.

     So that’s what brings her to a practice room, not for dancing for once, but rather for music. It might be her minor, but she still does need to practice it after all. She sits herself down in front of a piano, her first instrument of choice and begins to play.

     Soon enough, a soft melody fills the room. Alyssa lets herself be lost in the music, closing her eyes with a soft smile on her lips. It’s not a long song she’s practicing, but it’s still one she finds enjoyable.
